I'm 19 and I've played DF since I was 17.
Seems like the average player is older than 19. More like 21 or 22...
The so-called "elitists" gamers are not so bad. Sure, some of them are real jerks, but most of them have a point. Good intellectual games with a complex story, depth and wide ranging opportunities are rare as it is and with the mainstream growing ever dumber it's getting really depressing. Oh, how I wish to see a RPG rival Planescape: Torment...
Elitist intellectualism on the other hand is one of the worst things yet. I don't care how you think people should lead their lives or what they should read. I'm more concerned with the human condition and social animosity than what phil-"oh-I'm-so-smart"-s"-osopher wrote in their last book or what awful grammar error I just made.
