Just to see if anyone would be interested, the idea would be:

1: make brand-new chars in an empty large world
2: play terraria while building a very cool map
3: finish the map and upload
4: ?
5: PROFIT!

No server mods, no mob spawning, no farming other maps for items (unless we got really unlucky with the map gen)
Constructions on the server would be under (my ) criterious control, as most open terraria servers have that awful habit of getting littered with tiny ugly bases and space needles. And plase no OCD gamers, the idea is to build something cool, not kill the wall of flesh in the least ammount of time.

I can host the server however I dunno if my connection can make the latency good enough.
Anyone would be interested?

I'd be up for that!  There's nothing quite like a totally legit megaproject~  But what do you mean "no mob spawning".  And are you able to host, or are you like, running off a laptop?

I think it's more of a "your hard drive shall be my canvas" type.  Except it's a community canvas.  Ripe with phalluses and awkward boulder traps.

That's sort of what people already do on our current server - there are themed projects and such.

You'll find it hard to get everyone to start over though, as there's no way to police people grabbing stuff from other worlds and importing it- and restarting in Terraria is so tedious.

"Where are the materials going to come from," really. Where do you think they come from, th'bleedin' stork? Getcher pick out of the invhacked inventory it's been sitting in for the last week/month and use the bloody thing! (I jest, of course, but still...)

though you may have been talking about an actually empty, blockless world. That... you'd have to improvise with the obsidian that forms after the block removal. Might be interesting! Not what the fellow meant by empty, though

One thing to note, you would be limited to the colour of dungeon brick/wall that spawns in that world, which only have a 1/3 chance to match.

Ah, I thought he meant it was going to be an empty world. As in LITERALLY empty as opposed to uninhabited.
