6th Limestone: Created a new squad, The Distant Mirrors, and transferred two recruits and an axedwarf to it to encourage sparring. After a few months of constant sparring I'll return them to their original units.

27th Sandstone: Yet another child has grown into adulthood. I'm sure he'll make a fine furnace operator. There has been some grumbling among the Chrystalline Roars lately, so I have scheduled them some temporary downtime.

16th Timber: As the caravan from the mountain home arrives a wood worker is taken fey. Soon there after we find ourselves besieged by goblins. Among the invasion force is the Goblin Master himself! I'm shocked and somewhat horrified to discover that the goblin master is no master but a horribly mutated warthog!

20th Timber: Trolls and goblins have made it into the magma mines with no apparent effect. It looks like we will have to rely on cold steel for our defense.

Or maybe just a swift kick to the head. Restricted has been a whirlwind of destruction in this battle. Dual wielding a wooden and copper shield he has been bashing anything within arms reach.
Sadly our Hammmerlord has met his end at the hands of a troll. His death was quickly avenged by our Labor Agitator.

We had another siege. Lost a lot of dwarfs, including Metalchicken but we managed to defeat them. Spring has just arrived with a massage that the world has passed into the twilight age.

Spring has arrived and the situation in the fortress is as follows: There are a lot of dwarfs in the hospital and a lot of goblinite scattered around the fort. A gem setter is fey and gathering stuff and there are a lot of dwarfs that need burying. I've carved out a large area several Z-levels down that I have been using as a burial chamber.

Sorry about that, I apologize for not responding sooner but I was taking up new years residence with a friend who does not have access to constant internet (area issues). Regardless, due to the work that I have to do in the next week it would be fair to say that I am too busy for my turn, though if I do find the time I will pop in and see what I can do. Sorry again!

1st of spring.

Once again I have been elected to lead this Fort, into the brave new age of twilight, Forging ahead a new dwarven super power, so that All, be they elf, goblin or Kobold may know the Greatness of BeguiledBreakfast and the Dwarven Race.

I have decided that th best way to Move foward is to know the future.
So I will be Making an Augury chamber. By the bodies of the dead we will learn the secrets of the future!
To facilitate this I have Ordered the engravers to Stop smoothing that... Tomb? Arena? meeting place? I don't know what iti is but it's huge. And round. And a total waste of resources better put to use Peering through the veil of time With Armok's Will.

Our local Maddwarf has made an artiface Blue Garnet scepter. Happy days.

Work on our sacrificial chamber was going swiftly and to plan.

Until the goblins came.

This would normally not be such an issue as they don't seem to have any ranged weapons, but somehow the main door was jammed with clothing. Plus I had drained the magma mines resovoir in order to repair them, but this allowed the goblin siegers another avenue of attack.
there have been a few deaths so far. I have not been keeping count but we stand at 125 dwarves. I will try to remedy this situation.

We've been holding at 99 for a while.

98- a kid just went berserk. GUARDS PUT HIM DOWN!

It is now summer. From over 125 to below 100. and there are still many injured, and A lot of those won't live, or will die from infections. We simply dont have enough doctors and I doubt we have sufficient supplies to care for all the wounded. If only we had some way of knowing of these attacks in advance. Like some kind of Augury room.

I replaced a lot of the as they died, and made a couple of wrestler squads, to zerg rush the goblins. I mean feck all the peasants and platners were already going to die. I locked the doors first so as to stop anyone who still had sense from charging to their death because I shang hied them into the military.

A troll go into the dried out mine area, so they're still broken. I should be able to fix them quickly though. He only destroyed a pump and two or three windmills.

I made a civ alert called PANIC. Every time we had a siege I'd turn that on and it did a good job of keeping the civvies inside.
