Does size affect milk/sheared material output?
« on: December 11, 2011, 03:30:22 pm »

So as we all know, larger animals require larger pastures to graze. Is this met with an increased milk output in milkable animals/increased wool output in shearable animals, or does that only mean more meat?

It's not directly controlled by size, but by the tags defining that the creature is milkable or shearable.  The MILKABLE is followed by the item tags defining the milk material, and a number indicating how often the creature can be milked.  The tissue definition for shearable tissue layers (such as wool) specify how quickly the layer grows and what length it has to be to be sheared.  I don't know if the vanilla files have these set up so that larger creatures can be milked or sheared more often.

Thanks for the info! It looks like all the milkable animals have a value of 20000 for that tag, so that answers that. I can't really puzzle out the tissue bits, though.
