Arx, there's 4 routes, 5 at a push. Front to back, shortest set up time, longest cap and longest execution. Back to front, longest set up time, shortest cap. The side routes are _really_ tricky to do right. The tunnels need to be clear, but they are extremely good fun when you do cap it. So far the most common one is for attackers to go down the right hand viaduct, over the town and then down the ravine onto the river, jump up to the platform then cap out from right to left. Now, personally my favourite route is left to right. Really damned tricky to pull off but oh god so satisfying. The final 5th route is a bit of a doozy, but it involves going on the hill behind the base to the right if attacking and going for the flag at a diagonal angle and hitting the flag and either disc jumping off of it and going straight to base.

Whenever I see some kind of sniper get a kill, my thoughts follow one of two paths.
1) GOD
2) Lucky shot while firing at random

Playing as a sniper I know that about half my shots are dumb luck and the other half are mad fucking skills. There is no in-between.

That includes shots while you or the target is skiing, I've gotten kills on targets that are doing 100km/h, while I was stationary. I've also gotten kills on stationary targets while I was doing 100km/h. I've never gotten a kill while both myself and the target and myself are moving though. The excption to that though is when we're both moving the same speed in the same direction.

From my idea of the maps I've played on, getting snipes when you're both moving is LINING UP SHOT
A WILD HILL APPEARS!
IT USED BLOCK THE PROJECTILE.
IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE!

Theres talk on the forums of balancing capping at the moment at stupidly high speeds. Basically in its current state (as a pathfinder) its too easy to reach ludicrous speeds of like 250km/h from just a simple back to front route, if the capper touches the flag its pretty much high and dry theirs. The balancing (which I think is actually quite a good idea) currently suggests that you can only change direction in the air while using the jetpack instead of holding down the right or left buttons and steering midair.

Also; we have another few matches up this week, Wednesday is the next one iirc.

Also also; we should have some games together, I take it most of you are on the american servers?

edit: also llama'ing with the thrust pack is fun. probably a sign of how bad my playing level is though :p

I've seen people call llamaing grabbing the flag right before the enemy caps (which I do if I can to avoid them getting a capture, on quite a few occasions as an infil I see someone flying toward the flag at high speeds with our flag and run up grab it and put a sticky grenade in its place, its funny when people slam into a sticky instead of capping the flag like they hoped).

Also seen people call it llamaing when idiots keep grabbing the flag when they have no chance of getting away with it (moving slow, no support nearby, already near death, etc) when your flag is safe, simply preventing your own team from capturing the flag.

grabbing the flag to stop the enemy capping is an egrab afaik. for emergency grab?

and llama'ing is just taking the flag with no momentum, (esp. when someone else is coming in for it)

of course, i may be wrong.

Started playing this. Shot a few dudes, capped a few flags.

Pretty fun game. Generally get an even KDR ratio in team deathmatch and every 20 flag grabs I actually cap one, so Ive got some improving to do. And I do have to learn to shoot with the more hitscanny weapons. I can get some decent hits with the fuzor but cant shoot for shit with the shotty nor with the soldiers machinegun.

I really, really like this game.

At the moment the only hitscan weapon is the sniper rifles; the automatic guns used to be but too many people complained.
