That's pretty cool. I guess I could put a couple doors on either end, forbid them to dwarfs, allow pets.... ?

nope, put pets off, it'll mean they only get to cross when someone opens the door for them
a dwarf wont go there in most cases anyway
(dont underestimate stupidity)

Note to self: Mining through masterwork engravings is a bad idea. Especially when you just killed the engraver's favorite feline. He will likely decide that now is a good time to flip out and kill everything he can get his hands on.

The bad news: I now have eight dwarfs left alive and sane, two of whom are children, one of whom will never walk again, and one of whom is a heartless bastard who spent the entire tantrum spiral happily constructing masterwork crossbows in his little shop and ignoring the screams of terror and insanity echoing all around him.

The good news: Coffin-building turns out to be a pretty decent way to train the masonry skill, and most of those cats are free to slaughter. It's kitty stew for dinner tonight!

...I love this game.

Pasture cats in a small space, they will take care of themselves soon after being cramped  :D
