Hey, just because I said they wouldn't survive, doesn't mean I would hesitate to put people in.

Anyways, onto the first part of the LP! Since it's pre-battle, there will be just one screen:

Germans: Gray
British: White

The battle plan is for the 1st Platoon, with it's two rifle squads and a PaK 3,7cm 35/36 field gun, to hold our command post; the 2nd platoon will push into unopposed territory.

We are the 1st platoon. With 50 procurement points (now referred to as PPs), we were able to recruit 2 squads of 8 men each and a light AT gun. as long as the allies do not push into our base with a large force including a medium or heavy tank, we should be fine. I will try to get the battle posted tonight, but there are no guarantees.

April 9, 1940.

Two infantry squads and an AT gun are ready for the impending battle.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
They move up to the two points, and settle into defensive positions.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
They wait for a minute, waiting for the British...

The MG34 opens up, the machine gunner spotting British troops appearing from behind the building. He slays one, pins another in cover, and causes a third to retreat. He eventually kills the one in cover when he pops back up.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
While needing to hold only for a few seconds more, the British try to advance again, but the MG opens up again, with rifle support, and slaughters any enemy stupid enough to be out in the open.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Victory is ours!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Day 2 - The 1st and 2nd platoons will move against the British positions. We have 22 new PPs, but none of them have been spent, in order to save for a PzKpfw IIIL or IVF1.

Are squads persistent? Will the same soldiers move on to the next battle if they survive?

Yes they do. Once I get in game, if people would like, I can assign them soldiers, who have the same names and will live through the entire game. They most likely will not survive.
Cool. I'd like to be a soldier as well :D

Dibs on the panzer! Also, is it normal for the 1st squadron to be somewhere else?

The platoons can be placed in any friendly squares. The reason I'm not moving against the British 1st Platoon is because of their symbol, which for the militarily uninformed is the heavy armor symbol. I'm guessing they have at least one tank, and that would most likely mean death of quite a few troops. Not something we need.

You could have the other division/brigade attack them and see how that goes. And let's hope that the second british division doesn't bring artillery to bear this battle.

Hook me up as a panzergrenadier if you could.

Time for some Troop Assignments!

1st Squad will be just posters. You can also request a squad, made up of one (or more) people. I don't have many points or space to work with however, so don't expect too much.

1st Squad
FuzzyZergling - Ulrich Sternberg
Thendash - Ulf Brauer
Bdthemag - Max Kohler
Jacob/Lee - Arnold Schroeder
Warhammer561 - Ulf Krieg
Bojack - Stefan Bauer
2nd Squad
Commander - EuchreJack

PaK 35/36
3,7 Light AT/Field gun

Commander - None

No armor, panzergrenadiers, or snipers yet. Panzergrenadiers do carry panzerfausts. Anyways, onto the next mission!

NOTE: I do not know how to make steam images smaller, so if you don't have a good connection, don't open up those spoilers.

Day 2 - April 10, 1940

1st Platoon scouts have reported little resistance should be expected; no large troop movements reported.

The 1st and 2nd squads move up through the verdant green countryside. Their objective: a trail through a local French forest. While not important by itself, it will allow the Germans to easily move into the village.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Scouts spot a UK 6" howitzer. I shudder at the thought at what it could do to the troops.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The two squads move up quickly, before the howitzer can move up.

As the squads get into visual range with the howitzer, the British panic and begin to fire. The huge 152mm shells ignite the nearby shrubs. Allied troops not attached to the 1st platoon open fire; 1st Squad moves up through the treeline to help engage. The 2nd Squad begins to rush towards the howitzer, trying to outmaneuver it.

The two crewmen of the howitzer are killed, and the germans spike the gun... with an AT grenade.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The two squads move into defensive positions, ready for enemy counterattack:

Two things: One, this wasn't the original objective. Starting up my previous game didn't allow me to use the same campaign, so when I replayed the first game (to the same result) the AI actually succeeded in their attack. We're now able to hit their Supply Location. Two, DCG does not always provide good opposition.

EDIT: Third, Pak 35/36 is gone, has been replaced with a Panzer IVF1. We might have some serious firepower now :D

2nd Squad rushing the howitzer: Totally the tactic I would have called.  Glad to seem my squad is being used as I imagined (charge!)

So, since Squad 1 is B12 members, does that mean I command the cannon fodder?
