« on: December 09, 2011, 08:36:22 am »

I got these two children in a migrant wave.

Notice anything?

They came with their father, Litast...but they aren't listed as siblings.

What's going on?

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Seems like a bug alright. Probably related to how migrants are generated upon arrival, so you end up with kids who show up with only one parent. I bet the reason the kids aren't related is because they had no mother generated, just the father.

Pretty up the story by the guy taking care of a pair of orphans.

Half-siblings?

Adoptees?

Elves in disguise?

Better show them to the Welcome Room.

given the dwarven method of reproduction (spores ftw!) you would almost expect the same thing to happen with dwarven mothers (I.e. arrive with their mother, no father, not listed as siblings). You'd think it would be kind of hard not to know from whose crotch you fell (these are dwarves after all, it's less of a birth giving so much as it is spontaneous loss of weight that then becomes sentient and needy... Is Dwarven liposuction already claimed by the whole burn off the fat thing? If not that's totally what dwarven birth is)... unless... the dawn of dwarven man-mothers is upon us!

But in all seriousness, yeah, what they said. Bug.

It's this bug, which is just this bug from 40d (which is itself this bug).

# 001092 □ [dwarf mode][migrants]   (Report) migrant children that come with just the father don't recognize each other as siblings

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Known bug, has happened before, and someone also had several of these siblings, and yes, they will breed with each other.

And yes, someone on bay12 deliberately caused this.

The sad thing is, I'm not at all surprised.
