That was actually the most awe inspiring thing I've ever seen in my entire life. It looked like the car turned to dust.

“Do something!” she whispered, trying to keep her sight on all of them at once.
Basileus clapped his hands once. The Forgotten took a step forward, attracted by the sound.
“There, I did something. I clapped. I like clapping,” he said. -The Investigator And The Case Of The Missing Brain.

What does this accident mean for their show?

It means their already astronomical insurance premiums will go up a little.  The show is still a hit for Discovery, it's still making more than enough money to cover a little property damage.  If somebody had been hurt, then it might be a different story, but as is, it's just some embarrassing publicity.  Heck, it's not even necessarily bad publicity.

To my knowledge the show actually has a modestly small budget.

At least compared to... lets say... Two and a Halfmen which had a budget of 500,000 dollars (or 2 million I forget)

Funny... That was my same exact thought when I first saw that on TV.

That's because it did, in fact, mostly vaporize the car. There was not anywhere near enough metal after that to make up the car's mass.

I'm pretty sure you both thought that because that's literally what happened.

You're just reiterating facts :P

IF anything, the results to justify the explosions (Because it didn't work so it gets busted but they really want to see a car get cut in hald so whee rcket sled), but they do it either way, so not really.
I have never seen them take it beyond the scale of the myth and then confirm it.

You know, in the early seasons, Adam and Jamie would often say words to the effect of "It's in our contract to have at least one explosion each episode."

>Implying that the contractual obligation is even remotely necessary for explosions every episode.

To be honest, I really am surprised at the number of scientific experiments that involve blowing something up or otherwise destroying said something in a violent manner; Mythbusters or no Mythbusters.
