Pfff, simplicity is not the dwarven way, you have to make it ridiculously complicated. Which is why I'm attempting to make a cannon to shoot demons at elves and goblins with.

he sealed the passage off before opening the treasurebox, so yeah it probably still is. and hes got ample oppotunitys and examples to make it through if he persuvears.

Sorry about your fortress, Archeron, but it was all in good Fun, right?  We've all had an "Oh god! The wine is exploding!" moment at one point or another - it wouldn't be DF without them.

The best fun (and Fun) is only had from throwing all caution to the wind, in the middle of a hurricane. Caution is evil. Fun is good. And the good guys always win, right? Who wouldn't fight on the side of Fun?
