Somehow all my "Wild Strawberries" have turned into "Strawberries."  Including the "Strawberry Wine" that I now have.  Everything else seems to be working as expected.  The fort is about 15 years old now.  I think this is just a weird bug?

Wild strawberrys are supposed to be brewed into strawberry wine. Apart from that, it's probably just a bug.

I think your dungeon master fed the Wild Strawberries some Strawberries, turning them into Stray Strawberries (Tame).

In the vanilla raws, the plants are called "wild strawberries" and the booze you get from them is called "strawberry wine".  If you're seeing a plant called just "strawberries", then either you've got a modded game or found some kind of strange bug.

Yeah it's "Strawberry Wine" which I was confused, thinking it was supposed to be "Wild Strawberry Wine" because yes, all my "Wild Strawberries" are now "Strawberries."  No mods.  They were called "Wild Strawberries" for as long as I can recall, then I noticed they were suddenly just "Strawberries."

Very weird.

I haven't been playing with the above ground plants much lately but are you farming them? It would make sense that gathered strawberries are wild, while ones you grow on a farm plot are simply strawberries.

It would not make sense, because the plant is named "wild strawberries" in the raws.  DF shouldn't be arbitrarily deciding to display only one word of the plant's name depending on where they came from.  If there are actual "strawberries" without the 'wild' in front of them, then either you're playing a modded world or DF is doing something strange.

I think DF is gaining intelligence... deciding what it best for you... Changing the game so it makes sense? Too far.

In a certain way it would make sense for DF to call strawberries not planted by dwarves 'wild strawberries' and those planted by dwarves 'normal strawberries'.

We need some !!SCIENCE!! on this subject.

Actually I just checked the raw file in my game and found that the name is simply "strawberry". It's the "wild" portion that seems to be the deviant here.
