Mercenaries? Archon would never think that this planet wascapable of bearing more warriors than it already did. This ought ot be interesting....

A shuttle is dispatched to pick up the mercenary captian to deliver him to Archon. He is allowed a bodyguard.
After a short flight, they arrive at Castellum Fidelis.
Tall buildings, gothic spires and tal glass windows. dark granite and vulcanic stone hewn and polished, with walls of concrete supplementing the walls and the city. Landscape was not pretty but imposing. Obviously the highest bulding and neighbouring spires were the Archon's quarters. After some steps, corridors anda lift ride, the mercenary leader is ushered into the Arconh's office; dark wood, tall bookcases and marble busts of emperors and doctors of Church aligned all alongside the walls of the room.

The back wall has a tall gothic window and a mahogany desk. and arcohn sitting behind it.
"Speak. whats your name and what do you offer?

Mercenary captain is invited for a personal meeting with Archon.

Two men are standing in front of the archon, different like day and night. One tall and thin, like a withy, the other stout and compact-build. The short one has a brutish face, with eyebrows that are thick like caterpillars, crawling above his small eyes, which are constantly darting the more shady spots of the room. His armes are trunks, on his back is a giant sword straped on his back. It's almost big as this guy! The slender man has a much finer face structure, nonetheless the épée and the musket indicates that he is not one of the tender type. Both kneel down before the Archon, before they raise again quickly. Now, Delvos smiles as big as he can and says Splendid to make your acquaintance, Your Grace! I am Delvos, the captain of the Bloodbrothers and this is Grunt, my right hand." "Hm." "Not a very talky person, isn't he? Anyway, I am here for a contract with the Church. I heard about the crusade... I might join it, with all my three regiments of battle-hardened men, just for 5 credits, paid when it's need to be... A very generous offer, because our soldiers are expierenced and fierce fighter, eh Grunt?" "Uhm... 'es."

Archon's cold gaze sized up both men. after a brief silence he spoke.

"Well, I am certainly looking for able-bodied men to help me out. What are your skills? weapons? numbers? If i'm to pay you you need to be useful to me."

Grunt grins a while, but he regains his bored look when Delvos pressed his elbow in his side. "We are bloodied soldiers, with up-to-date weaponry and around 50000 on numbers. We can fight on field, in city, on mountains, everywhere where you wants us."

Meanwhile at the Spaceport of Beyond City, Si'kar
Robert
That last Artefact run left you with a good 10 Credits, you are richer then ever! Beyond City is the largest hub on the whole Planet, only Hive Delta 17 matches it in population. Although Delta 17 has no Space Port. The current Ruler of Beyond City is Harvey LeGrombe, Trade Prince of the Si'Kar and Beyond Trading Company. So...what now?

Delta 17, Capital of Nova.
You'll always find crows in the wake of armies - Lord Bult about the amount of human flotsam in the wake of his army.

and so every side draws it's Murder of Crows, as both sides were ripe with money and out for blood. A thing which often draws the one or other Soldier of Fortune. That a war draws yet another Free Company away from Beyond City and into the wilderness of Si'kar however is astounding. In this case Delta 17 saw the incursion of a particular foul kind of Mercenary - the new kind. With the ongoing Crusades and Novan Expansionism, nowadays deserters, cutthroats and bandits found together in Merry Communities which called themselve Free Company. In this case the new Company was The Hominibus Mortuis, led by Juras Levon, offspring of the more infamous Jarrin "Bleak" Levon commander of the infamous Bleak's Hunters. Definetly not half as good outfitted as his fathers Company, Juras could at least boast 3 Regiments of Line Infantry and another of Artillery, enough to put Delta 17 into turmoil at the approaching unkown army. After all, Free Companies were a new concept to Si'kar especially at such Numbers.

What now? Well, we find out what the local news is, maybe inquire for strange rock formations or other things that could hint towards possible ruins. The crusade is, of course, unfortunate, having locked down a large part of the surface, but there are alternatives. I don't feel like dealing with the Church this soon, so we'll probably set out on our own, gather information, prepare an expedition(maybe even with support of the local authorities) and set out towards an interesting spot.

1.Gather local news
2. Try to get information about the immediate surroundings. Things that could point towards possible ruins.
