"Well, you certainly put my mind at ease, but you haven't answered my request. Is Averys to go empty-handed, or can I grant her some money?"

((BTW, what can be bought for 1 credit? I just need reference as to the value of the money.))

((Azthor no reply to me sending you a request to meet?))

((My character is amidst a military operation and we have yet to receive any sort of input as to the Matriarch being taken away; Azthor will accept the request for sure, but I find it highly unlikely that, even if the messenger did reach him, he'd head towards the meeting immediatly. Still, let's assume the messenger was successful and the ships have already taken off (fast forward); Roim may or not join us when his shuttle lands)).

Disperse the soldiers and head towards the War Room accompanied by the usual personal escort.

Trent stood staring out the single window within the War Room as Azthor entered, it took Trent a few seconds to snap himself back to the present before he turned to face the man and the vast table with an unfinished map held onto it by four knives. He pulled three pieces from his pocket, the first an intricately designed crown surrounded by a halo of fire with a dragon twining itself around the crown, the second was a simple cross plain in design and material, and the third was a figure of a lion, some animal that hadn't been seen by most in thousands of years. Taking the crown, and the cross he put them on the part of the map that was actually drawn, and began to speak, "Thanks for coming, as you should know there are currently two powers vying over the control of this planet's surface, or atleast the parts we have mapped and now control. These powers are us, House Nova, and the Church and we are forced to walk along the fine lines of the Church law to avoid reprimand from them. True control of this planet will be determined by who holds the most power on its surface, and as you know there is also a third power that has recently emerged ..." With that he paused to place the Lion on the undrawn part of the map.

Taking a deep breath, and pinching the bridge of his nose Trent continued, "This third power is a Xeno nation with access to technology far beyond ours giving them the ability to build ships that can brave the void beyond our planet. Such a nation is to powerful for the Church not to make an example of, and thus they most likely plan a crusade to take control of that land and all the technology within it. That is why I've called you here, we need to strike first, and capture the shipyard before the Church can get their hands on it, or it'll be decades before we have the technology to create such things. If the Church gets control of that shipyard before we do then we will be forced to sit under their watchful gaze as they build ships of war, and house entire fleets above our heads. Now what I want to know is your opinion on how to go about such a plan, what would you suggest we do from here? Just bare in mind our actions need to be faster then the Church's Crusade, and swift enough to avoid their interference."

((Azthor, there is plenty of historical precedent of non-noble people taking control of a realm. So I wasn't referring to you specifically. Also, Ghazkull, no answer on my begging to act as Aeverys' scapegoat?))

((Mine. I asked one last thing of the inquisitor. After that I am issuing my orders. although i suppose i can post my orders without waiting for that response.))

((E: what the hell, i will post my orders anyway, last bit is a a really minor request))

Orders for this turn:
Give Averys 7 Credits to go with to Vengeance if inquisitor allows it.

Issue Edict - Prohibitum terra: newly discovered terrain is a forbidden zone to all faithful under the pain of excommunication, until the edict is lifted. The danger due to to xeno infestation and difficult terrain is too great for anyone unqualified to enter.

Issue Edict - Ecclesiastica Schola: all schools and academies worldwide are to remain church-based and with church education forming the core of curriculum. Revelation cannot be found outside of faith. Secular teaching and schools are in danger of being declared heretical if they do not conform.

Expand schools and temples in the independent noble lands and kingdoms to another level.

Second frigate, henceforth named "Aurora", is to conduct orbital scan and mapping of the discoverd lands and terrain. After the mapping is done, both Aurora and Morning Star are to commence orbital bombardment with their laser lances of the 2 biggest xeno settlements in the newly discoverd lands until they are both destroyed. Crusade is NOT declared yet.

With Averys gone, send a message to the captains of her warrior-priest units to fold under my command until Averys returns. Call upon her word and desire to safeguard warrior-priests from internal strife in Nova house after her departure.

Orders from House Nova. Those aren't all mine, but I centralized all the orders here. They're grouped by order-givers. Azthor, adwarf, feel free to order corrections to be made.

Common Orders
  • Build large temples all over our land, for the Glory of the Pancreator.
  • Divide the Army into platoon-sized units and disperse them all over the land in a great bandit hunt. Use the mobile Infantry battaillon as a support unit.

Roim's Order
  • Contact the Gladiator owners to get a few of the most famous gladiators to join the Crusade. They can make money out of news, merchandising and anything relating to the crusade. We'll have long distance communication, so we'll make this war into one huge Arena Fight.
  • Send a message to the local Inquisition office (I don't care if we don't have interplanetary communication abilities, merchant will agree to take the message for a fee), with a copy of the Prohibitum Terra. Ask them to investigate this reluctance to attack Xenos, and ask for an exemption for House Nova, in order to expiate our sins.
  • While we're at it, request an Inquisitor to lead our soldier-priests. Surely, given what they've seen of the situation on this planet, they'll want to have man down there. Make sure we still hold the purse so this new, independent force don't grow large.
  • Ask the Triumvirates merchant if they could make a map of the new continent (They have ships in orbit I guess, so it wouldn't be too complicated) and how much would that cost.
  • Ask the Triumvirate, or other merchants, how much would they take to move a sizeable army to the new continent. Alternatively, how much would it cost to send a couple regiments to Vengeance.
  • Start the training of the new volunteer into a half-passable army, and start assembling an armada. Give the gladiators honorary position, but make sure we have competent officers making the decision behind.
  • Contact other lesser nobles, and engage negociation to get them to join House Nova. We can garantee their power inside their fiefs, protect them from outside influence and invest in their infrastructure.
  • Offer all other Lords to build Temples on their land. We'll foot the build, and share the revenue between us and them.
  • Send an extra 5% of our income to the Tithe requested by the Inquisition

Azthor's Orders
  • Lead the mobile unit in the capaign against bandit.
  • Somehow, find time to teach officers and governors scattered acroos the land.
  • Push for more infrastructure in the Reaches, notably road and the Ordos Medicae.
  • Build the Massive collisseum.
  • Have headquarters for the Ordos Medicae, Police and Intelligence Service build in or around the capital.
  • Improve the Economy in the reaches, trying to bring mines,f actories and farm from their lowly tech level to something better.
  • Give better weapons to the Police

(( Not trying to start an argument here, but Ardas I see no reason your character would issue Prohibitum terra, because of that I'm getting met-gaming feeling there. You In Character wise know of no plans to invade the unknown region by anyone other then yourself, and even if you did it would benefit you to let them attack the Xenos as it'd weaken the Xenos with less work for you to do. You aslo got no express orders (that we know of) to order such an edict for your Crusade which I must point out that the earlier Crusade the Church carried out did not enforce an edict like yours, because there was no reason for such an edict then, nor is there a need now.

Even if you are part of the Church if you would benefit from some people wandering into that area, or starting a battle in it then that would do nothing but benefit your Crusade as it would make the Xenos weaker, thus making your task easier as I pointed out earlier. As for your reason given, as of now no one has entered the unknown region other then Xenos, and no one is eager to do so (that you know of). Then there is the difficult terrain part, nothing about the region should be any worse then the parts of the planet we do know, and have settled thus this would make your edict pointless, and would only make the Church either look untrusting, and suspicious or overly careful, and cautious to start your Crusade that has already been ordered.))

((Note: I am not trying to cause a fight, keep that in mind, just want to make sure meta-gaming isn't kicking in here.))

((Adwarf, I have an order from Inquisition to personally take over that land with no outside help. I don't have to know about your plans to bar entry for anyone that is not of church, since I'm fulfilling inquisitorial mandate and secure myself. You don't know about my plans and orders I have sent to me via PM either, so I understand your desire to question this.

And Sheb, crusade is not called yet. I just move my ships around and probe the xeno defences. Also, you never paid me any tithe directly, so you are just giving money to inquisition for nothing. I also automatically pay for schools already and money from those goes to me, since its the commoners and nobles who pay, not Nova. Also, I got a bit of RP to do with Roim if you want. I have an offer.))

((Plus, it make sense for him to impose that edict, as I've not hidden my desire to invade the Xenos lands, and we're after all in a power struggle.
I know the Crusade hasn't be called yet. I'm moving on my own there, we had this discussion before.

As for the tithes, the Inquisition required us to pay thithe to them. So what I'm doing is adding a bit extra, to hopefully get them on my side, and cutting the tithe you're getting from commoners and nobles of Nova Land. It's going to flow to the Church hierarchy once the new temples are built anyway.

I just assumed we were paying for the schools. If you are, great, continue to do so. But what do you mean "money from those"? You get money from teh schools? What are exactly the economics of schooling right now?

Now, if you want to RP, Roim may not like you much, but not to the point of refusing to speak the you. Just walk in and ask for an audience.))

((@Sheb: our whole plan will probably come down to a 1d100, which is why I hadn't bothered elaborating in the first place, still, it is true that it was a jointly elaborated in OOC, I deny nothing; also, time is ridiculously fluid, we have done things which should take decades in but a turn. As for the temples, the both of us had already ordered their construction))

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

((Likewise, we need not divert the Archon's tithes nor add 5% surplus to the Inquisition's, by building the temples the tithes are automatically increased and redirected towards the Church proper))
