Azthor

of course you have already brought spies all into the army to counter enemy spies and as such you get a +1 bonus on investigations.

[1+1] but even with these you dont turn up much. It appears not only food vanished but also weaponry and armour from your men. But while the Food reappears you soon find a whole regiment of Regulars lacking their Imperial Weaponry.

really? Kleptomaniac ninjas? what next? pyromaniac dinosaurs? Spontaneously appearing Fusion weapons? 3 leprechauns dancing a jig whilst drinking Guinness?

That post is like 4 months old. Everyone involved is probably dead by now.

Besides, there's an OOC topic for the game now.

Toxic Season 104AE: Dead Roots Stirring

Here we are again, Si'kar Emerald of the Imperial Core Worlds...or it was. Now it is more brownish in colour. The Population succumbing to famine, Toxic Atmosphere and the Erratic Weather.

The Viridian Dream entered the system and immediately the Custodian sprung to life activating several screens in front of Tavius.

Visitor we have arrived! I have several hundred heat signals in orbit around Si'kar.

One of the Screens changed from Static to a picture of a Inquisitional Cruiser

Ships bearing signature of the Inquisition. I also detected camouflaged Electromagnetic Signals from one of the Moons of the other Planet. My Scans of Si'kar also show that the planets databanks are not up to date. Correcting now: Population reduced from roughly 3 Billion to 1.2 Billion. Atmosphere Classification is now TII-B you require a rebreather upon entering atmosphere Visitor. Planet reclassified from Terran to Death World Classification.

Another Screen sprung to life showing the Burning Wasteland that Si'kar was. Half the planet was covered in toxic ash clouds.

Visitor if i may suggest you should delay visiting the planet until the Toxic Season is over. My Scans have shown me that the Acid Fume Rains will be especially strong during the next two wee- warning increased heat from the Inquisition fleet. Engines are heating up, fleet movement imminent.

the next moment giant holes were torn into reality as the entire inquisition fleet slowly vanished into the Warp.

Si'kar, Nova

Si'kar was a burning hell-hole, toxic rain was tearing up the remaining farmlands. The Population was starving in the Cities. Criminality was abound. The meagre harvests were even further destroyed by the rain...increasing the food shortages even more

Azthor
The Inquisitional Bombardement has left much of your land destroyed...precious farmland on top of that. With the Acid rain destroying most of the Harvests this season the situation looks bleak. As decided with House Cr'tok however 10 Terraforming Units have been sent to restore this wasteland. Initial Successes are already showing as 10 Parcels could be reclaimed as Wildlands.

gained 10 Terraforming Units
restored 10 Parcels of Burnt Wasteland
only 30% of the Harvest survived due to Toxic Season.

[6+1,5+1] Since you were such a great Trade Partner (and through the appliance of some connections and grease here and there) The Triumvirate is offering you up to 3000 Credits at a 10% Loan. LeGrombe even going up to 5000 however at a 25% Loan. Each is of course per season.

Archon stood there, amidst the burnt out wasteland, wiind blowing dust and ash past him. He bent over to pick up a handful of dirt, examining it, let it fall thgouh his hands, smelling it. That was harvest of it all. Ash.

And over that ash he would have to negotiate with Novans, that finally wanted to reach a resolution that Archon himself so desperately sought. He turned back to his shuttle and ordered pilot to take him to that small border town where he met last time with Roim.

Roim was a barbarian that did not fit with the Byzantine politics of Nova. He was replaced by an elder of the clan, who with his withered hand held an iron grip over the family. but it would not be him to whom the Archon would speak, but the young scion of the House. Someone who would see the future, someone more amiable.

Jarod Nova.

The shuttle landed near a small but richly decorated house on the town outsirkts, by now prepared ot host meetings between the nobles and the church officials who preferred personal contact over computer connection or state visits that left little in way of honest talk.

Archon, in his richly decorated purple robe took a seat behind his desk in the house and awaited the arrival of his guest.

"My lord, we sent the summons, but we are not sure if they were receoived positively."
Luthias only smiled weakly and dismissed the servant with a wave of a hand.
"Jarod is cleverer than one could imagine. He will know whats worth his time and what isn't." He spoke to himself. The room was empty, save for him and the Sol Sons troopers, who in their richly decorated power armor held guard of their master.

Jarod Nova is invited for a personal meeting with Archon Luthias.
A squad of Sol Sons is to become a permanent security detail of Luthis's bodyguard.

[2] As you order the Sol's Sons to act as your bodyguard, the men instead wander off...a bit later they come back with a lieutenant. A Man with brown teeth and the breath of decaying eggs. Clearly the man was chewing Rabin Roots, which contained amphetamines but led to bad teeth and worse breath. No Offence Archon. his hot stinking breath stung caresses your face and stings in your nose But we don't do personal security...that extra security...would cost ya extra...10 Credits.

Fifteen minutes after the shuttle's arrival, a corvette flew in from the west and landed about a hundred metres from the first ship. It was a Dray-class corvette, a type not manufactured in centuries, dwarfing the shuttle in size but still very small for a spaceship, and the words "Fire Walker" were painted on its left side. The ship's main door opened, and three men walked out. A good number more stayed aboard, watching them go. They were all armed, except for Jarod, who was amongst those going towards the house. The other two were his bodyguards for the duration of the talks.

Jarod was well dressed, as suited a man of his station, and he was absolutely unarmed. To his left and right, the men were in power armor - they were part of the house guard, arguably the best Nova had to offer. They entered the house in good order, talked to a few servants, and went to the room where the Archon was waiting for him. The guards remained outside, waiting by the door.

The nobleman nodded politely, not even sparing one look at the archon's bodyguards, and took a seat.

"I understand you wanted to talk, Archon? We have not yet had the chance to meet. The name's Jarod Nova."

He had an accent still, although it was starting to fade after months on Si'kar.

"We did not indeed. It is wonderful to meet you Jarod." Archon's voice was a polite, but dry.
"I wanted to meet you for several reasons, but the first of them is the issue of recovery of the planet and setting matters between Nova and the Si'kar Diocese." Archon continued in his dry tone.

He looked at Jarod with a glint in his eye, a smirk playing across his lips.
"There are additional matters to be discussed too, provided we reach a satisfactory conclusion of our preliminary discussion."

With a clap of his hands he summoned servants carrying trays of fresh fruit and some drink.
Luthias motioned with his hand to Jarod to treat himself, while taking to pouring some drink for himself.
"As you can see, we have plenty of supplies and I suppose staving off starvation of the people on the planet should be our primary concern. I will deliver 200 units of food to people living in Nova lands, regardless of the outcome of our talks here. Thats a promise." He raised his goblet to the nobleman.

Jarod served himself a glass from the same bottle as the Archon, and he took a sip before placing it back down.

"A generous gift, and some commendable intentions. I have been informed the relations between Nova and the Diocese have not always been warm, though I was not there to witness who or what caused it. Still, I agree that it's in the best of our interests to see them healed."

With a dry smile, his hand went under to his pocket, from which he brought out a paper folded several times. He placed it on the table, and carefully unfolded it. It detailed a very complicated device and was hand-drawn. There was Jarod's name at the bottom right, and notes scrawled all over. Several of them mentioned reverse engineering, though it was mostly numbers and specs.

"This is a Terraforming unit we managed to acquire. Since I think you'll agree with me that restoring the planet should be our priority, we decided to put her and her sisters to use immediately... Starting by restoring the burned lands you have under your jurisdiction. If I manage to build new ones, we might even send some over to you, though there's no need for two factions to have some, really - we're both on the same planet, after all."

Archon smiled jovially uopn seeing the diagram.
"Isn't that wonderful. I accept the gesture and await deployment of your units on my land as soon as possible."

He took a sip of his drink again. "Now is there anything in temrs of land settlements you are expecting from me? I am willing to make some gestures." Luthias gave the man a knowing smile.

Trent walked down the hallway with four men clad in ornate heavy plate, and holding rifles in hand, they were part of his Si'kar Avengers and each of them were proud to be among those ranks. Or at least from what he saw that is how it appeared, but he knew some had grown disheartened to see how far their home had fallen and he agreed. Si'kar was on the brink of dying he knew, but he was to weak to d anything, for the moment at least.

Today he looked fairly plain surrounded by the ornate 'knights' gathered around him, a simple tunic of fine wool, and soot stained brown jerkins with his house sword, and his flintlock on his person as always. "I find myself keeping more and more arms near me as my life drags on, perhaps by the time I die I will have a massed a collection to rival Aevery's", he thought as he turned yet another corner. It seemed this place got more and more complex every time he came here ...

Soon after those thoughts he arrives before the door to the Archon's Office, several Sol Son's stand guarding the entrance, and as they approach he sees a few start to raise their guns at his arrival. He spoke quickly,

"If you'd be so kind tell the Archon that Trent is here to see him."
