I set it to 10% and it seems relatively balanced. Ships slow down massively when they hit the system and take a long time to crawl around the planets.

Does anyone know the difference between Desura and Steam?  I think I'm playing outdated on Desura...

Doesn't the HF hull still have fighter-like stats? Like, while it's as big as a frigate it's still made of toilet paper unless you armour the crap out of it?

They are somewhat fragile ... unless you fit an ancient shield on them, and then they're super good.

I built my first Titan class ship yesterday, and while it took a long time to design, it was really powerful. Also, because I used a bunch of inertial dampers, it was so incredibly fast that it was almost a joke. I was just a bit disappointed in the DPS of the disintegrator beams.

Yeah I have been underwhelmed by the "big weapons" too. Except the torpedo launcher. Those things are deadly, and not just to the enemy.

I want to try to fit a titan with around 100 Vulcan cannons for the kicks, if only I could alter their facing.

How fast does that thing exhaust it's ordinance?

little over 17 seconds :D
but even then...that is enough to take out another titan before it runs out of ammo

I'd have to hazard a guess at "slower than the enemy loses HP."

Or "about the same rate as it exhausts your FPS."

Wow impressive I'd love to see that in action. Though the enemy would just need a few frigates with the shield piercing cannon to ruin your day.

This game need an arena mode.

So I was wrong, it doesn't take up the ordinance that quickly, takes roughly 450-500 per volley then 2 second reload, it also only drops the frame rate near the end of the volley when all 4500+ projectiles are in flight, there is also nothing in the universe right now that can survive a volley that hits directly....it is also to note the ai CANNOT use said ship because there are too many weapon arcs to try to check if its in range, it nearly crashes the game trying to do so.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

also...shield piercing frigates really don't do much, they destroy a handful of of the guns that then gets repaired pretty quickly thanks to the tons of engineering bays

Your ship literally looks like it should be flying in the other direction.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

So, this is MOO2 remade into the distant worlds/sins of solar empires RTS 4X format, with a blend of accessibility while retaining the option of insane shipdesigning a la Starruler?

I'd like to amend that. Ship designing a-la Remember Tomorrow.

Now if only it had research a-la Remember Tomorrow, this could probably be my most favorite 4X game ever.
