Hey, all this talk about music and such got me thinking: What about a remix of In the Hall of the Mountain King as the battle theme for the Elite Four equivalents?

I'm not sure if it would fit with the elite 4 equivalents we have set up. Thematically it fits yeah, but I think the tone and tempo is a bit too playful/festive

That's why I said remix. Try something dramatic and metal instead of the normal upbeat version (Which I think makes great 'spiraling into utter lunacy' music)

Hall of the Mountain King can be made very sinister if you do it right. I approve of the pun.

Bear in mind, Boksi, that it will sound quite different with the GBA's instruments. I'll throw them both into a dummy ROM and see what happens.

(Oh right, i'll need the MIDI. :D)

EDIT: It turns out that you need to have the right soundfont for it to sound any good on the rom; I've had issues with converting MIDIs in the past (Getting modern midis to work on older Nokia phones was nasty)...

You *might* need FL Studio to make the midis, and as yet I haven't found the fire red soundfont.

Oh god... I just checked out just how to insert them into an actual rom, and it's darn difficult. I think I might have to hand it over to some of the people competent with romhacking in this group. :P

Certainly.

I remember that you need a soundfont, which I don't know how to find or make.

Then, you make a Midi using this soundfont in a midi maker.

I think you then need to use FSF to find free space in the rom.
I haven't actually found a step by step instruction to do all of this...

Then, you need to use MIDI2AGB to convert it into a .S filetype, which can then be placed into the rom, using Sappy Media Inserter/Sappy 2006/Sappy 2.

I know you guys know how to use FSF already though.
Hopefully this explains it, but you should be able to learn it.

...Sappy? That's a horrid name for ANY program :( The program sounds sad.

...Aaaand this is why I'd prefer to be a PC developer who can use R/W over a console developer (ROM) any day ... not that I'm pursuing a career in games :P

I still think Gianbane should learn Guillotine at some point. Also I notice that Magman Hieman and Wambler's sets don't seem to be accounting for moves that they will automatically know if hatched from an egg?

I was under the impression that Hieman and Magman were Asexual, so didn't build it around that.

The Point of wambler was that it only knew struggle until level 17, and was completely useless at that time. And I thought only Gianbane would have insane stats, not insta kills.
