That is another good idea, monk. :P

There are a lot of themes we could have. Crops, plants, weaponry, stones/gems/ores.
Malachite Town. Andesite Town.
Spearsdale City. Dimple Cup Town.
The list goes on. :P

I'm so tempted to put all of the pokemon names into DFLang and generate town names from that though. It'd take friggin' ages to do, but it'd be hilarious to have Mewrizdon Town, Clegigglychu Town or something like that.

You also might use the oddly specific DF-associated colours: Burnt Umber Town, Sandy Taupe City etc.. That way you'll be staying close to the original naming theme.

Darvi, I do have to admit I find your version of Egwin bloody adorable. :P

Anyways, I was thinking if we did Mayday Village, our partial theme would be mod packs (of various sorts).

Phoebus Town
Ironhand City
Chariot Town

And then for the "fortresses", it would be references to classic Df fortresses:
Fortress Headshoots
Fortress ... (that visual one... with the megabeast?)

By fortresses do you mean the dungeons?

Well, we could have some towns aboveground as actual towns and some belowground as fortresses. Theme the towns after packs anad the fortresses after DF forts.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

If you do don't forget to put the pokemon center aboveground to facilitate easy flying and preventing fridge logic.

Yeah, I imagine they will be in something "outsideish". Each fort will probably have some sort of Helipad type outdoor roof area for just such a situation.

Alternately, perhaps you won't be able to fly into/out of some of the forts directly, merely to the pokemon center at the nearest entrance.

That kid seriously has to be the most memorable pokemon character of all time. He doesn't even have a damned name, I don't think. And yet every pokemon fan knows exactly what he says :P

I think it's because it was just a complete non sequiter- out of nowhere, like three kids who are all obsessed with shorts, and they are never spoken of again.

It will make MUCH more sense with socks!

Fascinating stuff, to say the least.
