I very much doubt thats going to be possible, sorry.

a HUE change in colour could be used, but that would only be graphical, while an inside clock IS present in the game, it's just there to show time.
rpg maker VX has a series of mods which can be used, but that's simply for creating your own rpg in the old graphical style.

I think it depends mostly on what the scripting language in Pokemon can do. I can't think of any individual part of my idea that didn't appear in Pokemon Ruby, but then again I haven't looked at any of the scripting, so I have no idea what's possible or not. Or whether we would want to have it or not. The idea I have currently would probably be a bit cumbersome in application.

Yeah, it's possible but cumbersome. You would probably only be able to do the checks when you move from area to area and that would probably be a pretty abrupt change. If something depended on it, we could work it out, but as it is it's easier to make evolutions based on happiness, stones, stats, or hold items.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

It may be /technically/ possible. I very much doubt it would be possible for us, if only because that would be a huge time sink for minimal reward. If we really want day/night, we could far more easily just switch to a version that has it.

Brook ---> Stream ----> River (All Water)
                          ----> Frozen River (Ice)

I have no idea why I just said that.

He's saying that there should be a Brook pokemon, which can end up in either a River or a Frozen River form.

We finally have a pokemon (almost) fully in the game. Just waiting for the backsprite and some little minor information. Here's some pics:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I found a much easier program for changing stats and moves (though oddly enough not sprites). Yet Another Pokemon Editor. Much simpler than the one I was using before. More importantly, it will allow us to add in information like:

Pokedex entries!
Gender ratios!
EVs!
Growth rate and base EXP! (For killing, I assume)
Evolutions! (Not just the basic level up ones too. It has trade, items, Attack vs. Defence, Beauty, the whole shebang).
Number of steps for Egg hatching!
Egg groups!
HM and TM compatibility!
Height, Weight and size comparisons!
It's number in the Pokedex!

Man, that's a lot. Needless to say all of that information will eventually leak into the game, but right now we're more concerned about getting some basic Pokemon into the game.

Wait, are you seriously making a starting pokemon part-Ghost? Hope you picked it, because it'll be completely invincible to Scratch and Tackle and the like and thus, a serious disk-one-nuke. What's that? You picked the grass-type? Now the first rival battle is impossible to win.

Sirus, everything you just said has been discussed and carefully considered. While Boatborn will be more powerful in many ways, he might have a bit of trouble at the first gym. ;)

Also, yay for Boatborn being in the game!

Charmander was the most powerful starter, too. You could still easily beat the first gym if you raised a Butterfree.

But hey, you're the guys messing around with code. If you say it'll be fine, I guess I'll trust you :P
