I think it could definitely fit, especially if we manage to wedge in a large desolate area away from civilization on the worldmap. Thematically, it should also have some evasion raising abilities or moves, since I remember bogeymen being hard as balls to hit in adventure mode.

By the way what do you guys think of my boogeyman proposal?

Bogeymen should definitely be in, and Ghost/Dark makes sense (although they could probably also be pure dark as well.) I'm not sure what their native habitat would be, though...

and slower than Ninjask
Kinda obvious. Isn't it the fastest non-legendary pokemon in all 5 gens, and the 2nd fastest overall?

Can't you just lower the stats across the board? I mean, just because you lower one doesn't mean you need to raise another, right? I could do with the cutebolds having lower than normal stat totals.

I'd be happy to dredge up yet another horror for the bogeyman :P

I was thinking they could either be in some hard to reach area called the something of eternal night, or they could be one of those pokemon you receive in egg form as a gift from someone

Both, perhaps? Wynaut could be gotten from an egg, and also caught at Mirage Island. Maybe it has a pre-evo that you get in the egg, and you can catch the fully-evolved form in some other place? *shrug*

I like that idea.

Begs the question, though- what evolves into a Bogeyman?

Well, there's nothing else that I can think of that would make any sense at all, so I think we'll have to go with this. :/
