So, I just realized that my default text editor, vim, has a built in plugin called xxd.

That means it works as a hex editor. Wooh! :P

No more using crappy software, I can do this shit directly.

Edit: This is stupid.

Okay, I know that I'm sorta interrupting something here, but has anyone thought who/what the Bill analogue should be?

I feel like we should add some more data to the wiki. Flags for instance, so nobody accidentally overwrites somebody else's flags.

Agreed. Flags are a good one, especially since we probably have very little use for the vast majority of the ones in the vanilla ROM and keeping a list of used ones will be helpful as a reference.

Edit: Also, flags are a case where we can probably scavenge as we go and keep a list of unused ones because there's no chance (for all the cases I can think of anyway) that using a flag from the vanilla ROM would mess up the surrounding code. It could mess up vanilla events past where we're done changing events (in the Fire Red story, that is) but I don't personally see that as a problem.

Edit2: Set up a Hex Flags page: https://github.com/GlyphGryph/Bay12Pokemon/wiki/Hex-Flags and linked it to the wiki frontpage.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Shiiiit you ninja. :V

'kay. Made three headers: one for new flags, one for unchanged vanilla flags, and one for the rest i.e. unused ones.

Haha, sorry. Editing a post like that can cause accidental ninja-ing :P. Also, do you hang out on IRC?

That could be really helpful.

I'm gonna try and sit in the IRC channel while I'm at work (and I will be on all day today at least), so people should come by and say hi. :D

I just had an idea: A rageface bayobeast/bayomon/dwarfomon/whatever. Since the game already has data for Castform (Or whatever that pokemon that changes appearance based on the weather is called. It's been a while since I've played ruby, sapphire or emerald.), we could use that as a base. Different faces for different weather!

Actually the location and story pages make eachother redundant, as they contain pretty much the same information. The former should probably contain a general description and later maybe a map of the places, while the latter should contain only the dialogues.

In my mind, the "locations" page was more going to be the actual location - details on layout, structure, pokemon types found in what locations at what frequence, items, etc. and so on, while the dialogue would be primarily the scripts - dialogue and events.

It might make more sense to just combine the two, though.

I would kinda disagree. Keeping them separate makes it easier to check something specific because the relevant pages are shorter.
