So, how do you manage music?
Will it stay at the original cartridge's?

It's possible to change it, buuuut we're having enough difficulty getting just the pokemon done at this point (need more spriters and people to put the sprites into the game mainly, I think), so that's on the back back burner.

I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

I can put sprites into the game. On Monday. Currently my weekend is way too for me to help. Just get a bunch of sprites ready for Monday and I'll put them into the game.

Behold, a creature made by a Fey Cook, a creation born of hunger and deliciousness, the being known only... as Mewstew.

So yeah, it's not that great. I was gonna have some more pink cat chunks floating in it, maybe a paw or something, but that proved beyond my ability to faithfully render (inasmuch as any of that is particularly well rendered.) If an inspired sprite person feels like taking a stab at the concept to replace this monstrosity, feel free. The other Mons in this line are Kitscuit and Roarst- I may be able to make Roarst turn out alright, but I don't know how to go about drawing a biscuit. Still, all in good fun, eh wot?

Hehe that's adorable and I want one. A dose of GlyphGryph's (or whoever else wants to take a stab at it) shading and maybe a floating chunk or two and it'll be awesome. That line of mons may be the main reason I play the game in the end...

All I can think of when I see and read that is Cat Soup, one of the biggest WTF anime "movies" I know of.

I don't even know if I WANT to shade it - the flat colors give it sort of a charm all its own. I mean, I could certainly try and we could compare, but that's pretty awesome, stylistically, and I'm not sure if any changes I made would be an improvement.

Also, back from my party. A friend won a skydiving pass and gave it to me, and I got to dance and drink the night away, so while I feel bad I didn't make any sprite progress tonight, well... I don't feel too bad. :P

But I might work a bit on it right now anyways.

Also, we're actually surprisingly short on rock and ground monsters. I think, to continue the elephant theme, we should have the Sandophant from this video in the game. :P

Sorry, it was spoilered, so that was probably why you didn't find it.

Uh with the Brumble sprite you might want to make the eggshell wider and you forgot the polkadots again.

I didn't forget, I removed them for practical reasons. We have a limit of 16 colors, there's not gonna be any polkadots.

I also eliminated the color differences between the horns, claws, and stomache, and removed the colored eyes, AND ended up using the body colors for half the head shell, and I STILL used all 16.

The other bit is valid criticism, I'll see what I can do.

Added shading to the Espier (Floater) sprite, and added a backsprite version. Espier visuals are ready to go in-game.

Which just leaves me to hammer away at Shush, and hopefully get something that isn't nearly as ugly as my last attempt, for the back sprite. Once that's done we'll have our starter and 3 route 1 mons ready to go.

Edit:
Shush front and back sprites are ready to go.

Are there any critters that haven't been sprited yet? I'd be willing to do a few of them
