So this one is without Outlines, and removed the color black entirely.

edit: It is a bit difficult to see the white parts with this forum background.

Edgin, man. Like bluerobin said, use a color roughly two shades darker than the adjacent color along the edges. So the white areas would have a medium to light grey outline, while the darkest areas would be almost black.

It's actually a bit more complicated than that to do super well, but that's like 95% of it.

Hmm.. what was the color limit again?

Right now it's using white, dark grey, light grey, brown, dark brown.
Four colors so far.
And using slightly darker versions of those colors will make it up to eight.

I'm pretty sure that the limit is 16, but one of those colours has to be the background, which leaves you with only 15. Unless you feel like you have to double the number of colours again, you should be fine.

Yup, for coloring I started with a medium brown that I liked (but didn't use to draw, just used as a base) then I got a lighter shade and a darker shade that I actually used to draw with. I had two more shades (one even lighter and one even darker) that I used with the original two for shading. Then I used the shade of brown one shade darker to do the outlines (outline areas of the lightest brown with the next darkest brown and so on; I added a 5th dark brown for outlines only).

That's kind of hard to explain, but it shows why you want to keep simple color schemes. I have a yellowish brown, a reddish brown, and blue and with all of the shades I ended up using for shading I basically filled the 15 + background color limit (there's one red in there for the mouths and cherry on the cake, but that's it).

I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Ok, I did take your advice, it is barely noticable on some areas tough.
Perhaps I should add a background color?
As to make it easier to to differentiate beween background and white.

You've got plenty, since light grey edges white, dark grey edge light grey. So you'll only have to add a darker grey, and... I'd actually say two shades of lighter brown, the bag needs a lot of work right now.

I think it needs to be a bit darker than that. The light grey you already have for the body is appropriate for the white area edhe, I think - though they do need shading too.

The outlining itself looks good, but just make them darker, I'd say. It'll look a bit goofy before shading, but that's ok. Adding a background won't really help (except to help you define edges while you're drawing) because some of the backgrounds in-game are light enough that the white parts might disappear there too.

Ultimuh, your rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraccoon progress continues unabated! I think you deserve a prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrromotion!

(I have been demoted to scrub monkey 3rd class.)

Lets keep this going, guys! :) Uni's just started, so I will have stuff to do other than just sit here and design / play guitar / drink beer all day. I should still be able to make a decent amount of progress though. :)

Edit : On lungfish, haven't seen one or if I have, it's got no stats, sprites or moves.

Ground / Water type? :)

Just added a placeholder location - "Cobalt Road" (feel free to rename. now that I think about it, I think someone was working on this a while back), which connects Headshoots and Syrupleaf. If you want me to do encounter rates, trainers or even a rough map on paint for it, just ask. :)

Also, finishing the design of the three moose - skin mons, who had names and descriptions but no stats, moves or abilities.

Meanwhile, a deadly important question. Is it possible that I'm never, ever going to be able to play guitar?  :P

You might want to go into the raws and remove that tag you've got there, if you want to be sure.
