Instead of Rock Stones we could use Moon Stones (like for Smashayu or Kanite). I mean, the moon's basically just a huge chunk of space-stone.

I think from PokeEdit pro or Yape (forget which) you can actually choose both a sprite and pallete. If you've loaded the palletes into a memory slot with unlz and didn't link them properly, you should be able to link them there.

(The sprites and pallets are actually stored seperately, which is why when you export with unLZ it has a memory location target for both the sprite and the pallet)

Yep, YAPE can do that.

Yeah, I made sure to write down where unlz put the palette and gave that same hex value to PokeEdit Pro when I put in the new sprite.

DarviNinja: wha, really? Could you say where? I looked for it so I wouldn't have to download another program but couldn't find it.
Edit: also, are you using YAPE 0.9?

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Are you sure the pallet loaded correctly? Have you tried again, just inserting the pallet into a new memory location and hooked up to that one?

You didn't overwrite the pallet with the sprite, did you?

Meep, minor retardation moment. I meant PEPro.

I'm not sure how to test if the palette loaded properly, but I did try repeating it and it still looked broken, just with a different broken palette. The sprite and palette are in very different places (804750 and 3B4E80) because those are the locations the FSF gave me. One thing, though, is that sometimes unlz finds and moves pointers when it's inserting things. Part of the sprite inserting tutorial says to check the box to allow it to do that, but could that be related to the issue? I don't remember when it happened, so I can't correlate it to the problem very well.

Darvi: ah ok, thanks :)

I'm starting to think that we should write up an agenda/list of things to do, that we can pull out the next time a large group of us manage to show up on the chat at the same time

Yeah, I was thinking about that too.

And basically there's only a handful of things to do:

-Finish the mons that we have started working on (currently, only Boatborn can claim completeness)
-Start working on the mons that have absolutely nothing (kinda what we've done the last few days)
-Moar trainer types
-Make a world map
-Continue working on the story
-Redesign the cities (kinda requires the last two to be done first, though)

Okay, that was a bit more than a handful...

I'm also tempted to ask for a new catagory for the Bayobeasts that are "almost" done, because as it stands I can't tell what bayobeasts need movesets and stats.

Agreed. The wiki page for mons needs some reordering. I'll probably do it after I'm done picking out tiles for the various forts. :P

Alright, got a start on updating the mon page of the wiki. So far it's not terribly useful to people who want to help out, probably (unless you want to sprite, lots of sprites needed!), because I didn't make it to the ones that need the most work. I'm exhausted though and I should have been in bed an hour and a half ago. They ARE in order, though, and everything from Cavider down needs everything (descriptions, moves, sprites, stats, etc).

I've been mucking around with the ROM and YAPE, learning how to use them, and noticed a few things:
  • Skelefish is meant to learn Nasty Plot, which is a Gen IV move.
  • There are menu sprites for each mon that will need replacing.
  • From the look of things, Pokedex entries are only one page, with 3 lines.
Edit: It also seems that evolved mons have to be given the moves they would have learnt before evolving, if the official mons are any indication.
