The ATF administration has regularly sold guns to Mexican terrorist organizations- these drug gangs. Does this mean that the ATF head can be detained indefinitely?

The ATF should be disbanded anyways, but besides the point, I suppose they would not, because there is the 'letter of the law' and the 'spirit of the law'. While you can always twist around the interpretation of the latter to some degree, the former is how the judges and policymakers are supposed to impliment it.

So I'd imagine that it applies to hypothetical persons that might have sold a car or rented an apartment to an Al-Quada agent, as well as it does to incompetant federal agents.

Huh, that's new? There was enough media coverage and numbers presented that Bush basically stole Florida back when it happened that even I noticed it. I guess it didn't get out of the state very much?

A lot of people talked about it, but it seemed like a lot of rumor and hearsay at the time.  I guess it's more true than we thought, or at least, it's suddenly very likely and they might have gotten away with it.

That video has been around since 2006.  I tried showing it around to people back then.  You wouldn't believe the hostile reactions I'd get.  Now it's been re-uploaded several times in the last two years, and people are actually watching it instead of rejecting it as tinfoil hat bullshit without even watching more than a few seconds.  My how things have changed.

It was pretty obvious that the 2000 election was rotten even before this, though.  The situation in Florida was just ridiculous.

And then, there is the simple fact that Bush had less votes than Gore.

It is possible, though unlikely, that the electoral college can cause a candidate to legally win even when their opponent has more popular votes. Which is part of why the electoral college should be abolished in presidential elections.

Yeah, I know it's the way your constitution work. But even if we discount the possible fraud, or the fact that he was effectively appointed by the Supreme Court that halted the recount, or the various stupid issue (like so-called Butterfly Ballot) that could have given the victory to Al Gore (Bush only had a 200 vote lead), it still means that Bush was actually the looser in any Democratic sense of the term.
