Searching for embark right now. Will make a back-story after I finish setting it up.

One unnamed dwarf is up for claiming if anyone else wants to be dorfed. Said dwarf is a mason.

Deathsword's Log
1st Granite, 201

We've been tasked by her highness, Queen Momuz, to make an above-ground city. The "logic" behind it is that she wants to know why humans have spread so far in the world when they live in those filthy cities. Above the ground. The good general then decided to add that it would prove that we are superior to humans. I tried to argue, I really did. They wouldn't listen, however. So seven dwarfs, myself included, were sent to a nice open plain where we could build the city in safety.

But there's always a catch. We'd have to go through a cursed desert. And, guess what, the wagon broke down in the middle of it. I guess we'll just have to make it here.

Fortunately, the queen, curse her stone-filled head, allowed me to name this place. Here begins Rotbane. Strike Build upon the earth!

The entire map is flat, by the way. A rare find, considering I forgot to look at cliffs/elevation before embarking.

No, I keep getting non-flat ones every time I decide to embark on one.

You want a turn or just a dwarf?

EDIT: peregarret, I just found out you like cats. And the local cat adopted you as soon as I unpaused.

I was forced to pasture the cat to keep it from luring the undead camels while it hunted fireflies. Aside from that, construction goes well.

EDIT: migrants arrived... and two are architects. With my dorf, that's 3 building designers in one fort.
