Experience with previous Wesnoth tournaments tells me that you should expect dropouts and have backup players ready (especially in round robin groups), maybe it's also a good idea to ask for an additional confirmation from everyone before it starts. And come up with a way to deal with a player who already played some games and quits the tournament for whatever reasons. Just to make sure.  ;)

I will observe some games when I catch them. It might be a good idea to standardize the game name/description so it is easy to find.

What's a good way to learn how to play against human opponents? I sucked even against the campaign AI.

Play against a Human who will give you advice.

If the magma cannon doesn't count, they aren't proper scientists.

Play against people. Review your matches. Observe the games of top players.

Edit: vodot, please change me to intermediate.

If anybody is interested, I can play a game in a couple of hours. I say a couple of hours so there is time to organise anything if needed - so anybody want a game (s)?

And heya Kolbur ;) Are you in the 2 unit tourny? Or the WTT?

Any updates on how we'll be handling the tourney?

Regarding the tournament, what sort of timezones are we playing with here? Is this mostly an American thing or do we have a decent toss of Euroasians in the mix?

Just started to play this game today, it is a great strategy game with a good amount of depth and pace.

Also, wouldn't mind joining in on this tourney. Sounds like fun. As for my skill level, it would be at novice.

Because the solution to not being able to control your dakka is MOAR DAKKA.

That's it. We've finally crossed over and become the nation of Da Orky Boyz.

Interested in knowing if I have a match coming up at some point...

Also, I hope we're enforcing strict time limits.

Yup, I'm on the server at the moment. Dark Forecast perhaps? It's a 2 player co-operative game against random AI spawns, with a randomised weather system that alters the terrain every couple of turns.
edit: I'll just start one up, see who joins.
