Happy Birthday to Me!
« on: November 29, 2011, 02:21:25 am »

So, I turned 20 in about 40 minutes. today

Really really hoping that on this birthday, of all birthdays, I get what I want most of all, which is money.

I've already gotten some nice things - around $95, a brand-new, very nice jacket, a $40 gift card to B&N, and a model catapult.

Is it uncharitable of me to want more? Like, to want people to throw money at my Paypal account so I can buy a new computer?

It might be asking a bit much.

Nonetheless, happy birthday.   :)

HINT HINT WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE

As for the actual question, I think it's a bit rude to expect things from people when they have no obligation to give you anything. But there's no harm in just wanting something - hell, I want a complete set of Homestuck hoodies, but there's no way in hell I'm getting that any time soon.

The main thing that's an issue in my mind is wanting something vs. expecting people to get it for you. The former is fine, the latter is rude regardless of occasion.

Happy birthday anyways.

Wanting things is always fine, so long as you recognize that you won't get any of it.  :P

On an unrelated note, happy birthday!

dude. shut up

Dude, don't be an ass.

Yeah, I realize that it's pretty unlikely for random people to give me money just because it's my birthday. Thanks for the "happy birthdays", though!
