Trade Depot - Mining Designate [38c]
« on: May 12, 2008, 11:40:00 am »

Most noticeable when the wagon based caravans arrive. Its possible to get the merchants loaded or unloaded at an accelerated pace. This does work with all the merchants but isnt as effective with the elves.

1: Trade Depot with caravan unloading or loading.
2: Activate the mining menu 'd' and set for mining.
3: Use mouse left click/drag to flag an area and watch the depot.

As the mouse is moved with the left button down the merchants will unload or load their goods at a superfast rate. You will see the goods on the depot tiles switch rapidly then stop changing.

4: Exit the mining designator and the merchants should be ready to trade or depart.

This is a known bug related to:

000768 □ [dwarf mode][interface][designations]    (Report) cat adoptions and meetings can occur while the game is paused during mining designations

You can also (ab)use this to train your bookkeeper. He'll update the stockpile records (and turn into a superdwarf) super fast this way.

It's official, the bookkeeper is the fastest way to legendary (with the possible exception of idle).
