"Drzkktizz does not object."

A few seconds later, Drzkktizz used one of his rear claws to jerkily copy Pitonious's upward maneuver with his thumb with some hesitation, as if it was completely strange to him to do so.

"Hmm. Upwards, yes. This signal, meaning to go up."

Action: Follow Pito upwards.

(Figure I might as well color speech, too. Tarran, you don't use Darkling, right? Is it too bright? If so I'll add a shadow or glow or something.)
No, it's fine. It's much better than Dwarmin's color, in fact, which I already can read.

(All right, cool. I'll stick with it then, since it's pretty visible in Darkling as well. ^^^)

Mini-Turn

The party (or portions thereof) creeps along to the left, rising by a handful of steps every now and then. There are many dark and silent rooms and hallways, which they pass by without incident, before noticing one that is neither.

It begins as a faint, pulsing hum, followed shortly by noticing a pale blue light coming from a doorway ahead. As the doorway is approached, the pulsing grows louder and stronger, and by the time a head is poked around to find out what's inside, you can all guess exactly where the source lies.

Across a fairly large room lies what looks like the stone rim of a pool or pit; bright light issues from it, the same you saw from the hallway. It is also, not surprisingly, the apparent source of the humming.

What is surprising are the multiple shapes that twist slowly around it- despite being underwater, they are clearly also made of water, and shaped erratically, like twisted sticks. You don't think they noticed you, but draw your head back to make sure.

"What do you suppose those are?" Athara asked, glancing through the doorway at the shapes again. "And do you think they're hostile or not?"

"No idea what those are, no idea if they're hostile, but it won't be hard to find out. Just make them aware of us, and if they charge instead of 'walk' then they're likely hostile."

"Well... only one way to find out," Athara said.

If neither Tarran nor Dwarmin objects, try to get a creature's attention but, and this is important, do not actually walk out where they can hit me with any sort of projectile fire.

Stand by Athara's side, sword and shield at the ready, but stay in cover.

Mini-Turn!

Upon noticing Athara, the water-things twist a bit and then pause, as though looking at her, before beginning to rhythmically twist and vibrate rapidly. A loud cracking sound is heard, deep but more earthly-sounding than the pulsing, which has diminished but sped up.

A moment later, a giant crab begins rising above the pit, visibly growing before your eyes. Within a few moments its body is the size of a small shack, and it lets loose a bellowing screech before charging you.

"Settles that," the Aellar sighed as she stepped back, away from the doorway. "What do you say we just head back downstairs and leave this thing up here where it can't get at us?" she asked brightly. "Or we could wait for it to stick a pincer through the door and try to lop it off..."

(Er. I'm assuming the doorway is human-sized, anyway...)

"I say lop it off first. Unless the enemy is known or rumored to be superior, it is always a good thing to test it."

Wait for crabby to stick a claw in, then lop it off.

If he fails to lop it off, try to finish the job, but otherwise don't interfere; we don't need our swords to get tangled up or something.

Enter the temple, examining the surroundings on the way. Also, if possible, test my magic on those plants nearby, if it works.

((Still don't know if it's approved though))
((Still on the outside?  :-\ ))

((Oh, no. You can't cast anything on plant life until official turn time, but you're free to enter, notice the whirlpool and/or your new allies, head down after them, etc. anytime.))
