Hmmm. We're still crossing Rohan. Have we passed Edoras yet, or are we still in the Westfold?

lol. Well, if you like, i'll see if you get a six again that something good comes up.

Ah, it's up to the GM. I just see a 6 as a...Well, a 1 in a 6 chance to get something cool. But I'm a newbie to RTD's, so do however you wish. I'll be looking forwards to me harem of Elven maidens after slaying these goblins! Hrmph.

Oh, and btw guys, I would like to ask that you all put your name in front of a post. Kind of annoying, having to search through the thread for your names and status.

Khan-Get the soldiers to erect spikes in front of all the entrances to the city, pointing outwards.  Convince the commanders to stockpile oil pots overhanging the spikes so that when they get stuck we can drop burning oil on them, halting their progress so that the  archers have more time to take down as many as possible before the melee.

Ah, that's a shame. Though, games set wholly in other works like this do tend to not go so well, so I suppose it's not that surprising.

Still, this means there's no delicious manflesh. :(

@IO: Yeah, that was a problem with OoTKRTD. I had to deviate so much from the source material I lost interest >_>

In this case, it's just a problem of the GM losing interest, I believe. Oh well, it happens.

Well, like I always say, it's gotta be something you REALLY love writing about :P Though LoTR is VERY heavy source, so staying true to it would be difficult, I'd imagine.

Ah, well, beggars can't be choosers, aye?

Maybe I should start an RTD. Somebody, give me a simple idea and I'll start it immediately. Preferably something fantasy/zombie related. Seriously, I have all the time in the world; - I don't have a job nor go to school, so if I do make an RTD, i'll work on it 'til either everybody quits or I die.

Simple idea. :P

Roll to Run the Generic RPG Item Shop!

DONE!

Now to spend about 30 hours writing it up. Any tips?

Welcome to Roll to Run the Generic RPG Item Shop!
(Courtesy of Micelus)

In this perilous world, there is only one true power; - You! Yes, you. The fat one in the corner, spinning his last two coppers on the ale-sodden table. what's that you say? You want to know how you can become greater than the mightiest kings? For but a copper, I can inform you! ...Not a good trade? Very well, my information shall be free...Simply, you must become a merchant!  Starting in a homely town, you can open up your own item shop, relying on goods gathered from Adventurers or simple objects that you purchase and sell at a heavily extorted price! There's plenty of people out there needing a good sword, club, or potion; - And even more requiring a bit of proper adventuring gear! Wait, what? You say that you don't know anything about merchantising? Ah, my friend, that's where I come in! You see, I can help you with this task...For a minor fee. All I ask of you is a small cut of your profits every month, nothing to worry about! I have all the tips and know-hows from years of travelling and dungeon-crawling, I'm even better than one of those magical encyclopedias! So, why don't we head out of this sodding tavern and find us a proper place to stay, mmm? I may be able to loan you a bit of the basic necessities to start out, and it won't even cost you!...At least, not at the beginning. Very well! I see that I have your full interest now. May I welcome you to the wonderful world of Fornoth! Where tentacle beasts and level 1 Jesters roam the sands, seeking fame, fortune and nubile young virgins!

How's that for a beginning? Not too shabby, eh?
