This smells suspiciously like a rewrite of the old "Empire" text-based mainframe game.

Nothing wrong with this, of course, Empire was awesome in 1990!

We're going to lose the Faeroes. They put up a brave fight, but the Scandinavians landed a regiment of marines and dropped 3 more regiments of paratroopers. The thing that really disturbes me about that is that the Faeroes are a pretty damn long ways from anywhere, so even if they island-hopped them from the Orkneys, that means their transport planes have a pretty considerable range. Certainly enough to drop troops most anywhere in Scotland. I'm guessing they're multiple years ahead of us in tech, so this isn't going to be pretty.  :(

Their marines and paratroops are 1934. Also, they came from the Shetlands, and I don't think transports gain range with tech. Anyway, I'm not worried, the reason they won is because they used a submarine to lower the troops' organization and force them to retreat. If they attack the mainlan, we can just CRUSH them under massive amount of Infantry.

What worries me more is that my Baffins apparently disappeared. I'll ask Cep if he shoit them down, but I should've gotten an alert.

Should I make it so one regiment is 1000 infantry, or make multiple smaller regiments?

Didn't run the math to see what's best, but I'd say one full-strength.

I'm afraid so.

What happened: I was screwing around with the Baffins, blocking transport and forcing them to stay over AA batteries, crushing some paratroops (We got like 70 of them in a few rounds). Then I noticed the group that was taking over that airport. So I moved over and started bombing the shit out of them. I had close to 100% fuel at that point (refueled at the airport). So I left my planes bombing shit, and go back home from the uni. when I come back hom, no more plane! (that was around 1 hour of commuting).

A full strength unit gets a 10% bonus to strength.

Actually, it's a bit more complicated that that. All unit get a (Percentage of "fullness"-90)% modifier to their stats.. So full units gets 10%, units at 90% don't get any bonus, and a unit at 10% get a -80%. So I guess loads of small units are more efficient, but you've got a malus when stacking to many units in one hex.

probably your planes were destroyed or captured when they occupied the airfield. we should never have airfields in such an isolated place. ( it was on a tiny island which couldn't be reached by his soldiers).

also, we need transport planes/ ships!. at the beginning, several people wanted to do fleet and were told to move to other productions, because too many were doing the same. But now we are really lacking ability to move units anywhere out of GB mainland.

Well, the advantage is that the enemy cannot use it to land more troops.

My planes were based off another airport anyway. And they were bombing, if your theory is true, then we cannot use planes above airfields...

Wait....how did a submarine force ground troops to retreat?? That's pants-on-head retarded.

Cause subs can attack ground troops apparently, even tough they can't do anything to them.

They used to have a cannon mounted on top, and would surface to use it.

The Deck guns on Subs aren't exactly the preferred thing for shelling ground targets. A bit of small arms fire and you'd be able to take out the exposed gunners and I'm pretty sure that if you wheeled over a small Anti-tank gun or even just sprayed it with enough fire you'd be able to disable the entire sub. (Or at least prevent it from diving)
