I did not even notice them before to be honest but I have 1.6k now.

1.6k total, or just 1.6k unemployed? The top left number is only showing unemployed people. For instance, I'm showing 10k workers, 5k builders, and only 22 unemployed. You can hover over the number for it to show you the total population.

If you only have 1.6k people total, wow that sucks :o You'll probably want to prioritize building city upgrades to get population up faster. I have mine up to level 7, upgrading to level 8 now. That'll give me 14 people an hour, 336 a day.

Well, finally got to level 10 for most of my lumber camp/cement plant. I'll destroy some and start building steel plants so I can get the missions bonus. And upgrade that city: I've still got 5k unemployed, but this is shrinking fast: I reckon I could be hit by a worker shortage withing a week or less.

Well, I am thinking I will start keeping 20 of both Cement and Sawmill for a while, at least when they produce 20k/hr and start rebuilding up the different things I need...

im down to 4K free workers.
after trying to build a few troops ive found that 7K of ammo does not go far.
20k/hr, i was aiming for 35k/hr befor i start any rebuilding.

First impressions:

- Geez that world map is huge
- Looks interesting. Loads of research and units it seems
- Seems not too time-intensive. I.e. I can combine this with my job. Too bad my workplace servers don't allow access to most of the net
- did I mention that the world map is huge?
- Hmm it seems the server crashed

Anyways, I've claimed Belfast, and like to offer my services to the Greater British Good. I intend to build ships. I have already built a harbor and shipyard. I suppose I'll be needing tons of rescources (steel, wood, rare metals and rubber. And fuel. And money.). In return, I will supply the fleet with ships.

Speaking of military matters.. Does every player control only it's own units, or does the command structure under the army window allow for players using any unit assigned to them? I hope for the latter. I would, for example, gladly cede control of any ship I build to a confident admiral, yet command a squad of fighters (built by other players), to protect my own city and docks from bombers).

I have 25 lumber and 27 cement buildings right now, plan is to replace 5 of the lumber and 6 of the cement eventually with other useful buildings like ammo factory, fuel refinery, maybe some rubber.

My production was over 70k/hr on both lumber and cement last I checked, and I had a bunch of upgrades going. Can't login right now (I guess it's temporarily down?) but I'll probably be around 80k now since the upgrades should be finished. My current project is upgrading my city to get more people. I have a bit over 15k people right now, and over 10k of them are workers with the rest doing construction. I started with about 14k though, and got 600 from missions. The rest are from my city production, I've been upgrading it as I went along.

I haven't looked into it thoroughly, but from what I got from skimming the wiki a while back I think you get permanent direct control over all the units you recruit. The Minister of War can control everyone's units in the country as well, and I think you might be able to assign other people control over your units too but im not sure on that. The wiki probably has that info, but it's down right now too hehe.

You can also manufacture units and ship them to other people to launch them though. Not sure how (or if) that works with ships, but you could for instance build a bunch of tanks and transport them by railroad to your neighbor, who then pays the money and population costs to deploy the tanks.

Martinuz, it looks like everyone is specializing in a type of units, not on intermediary products. Could still work, but you need to find someone willing to provide the raw materials. Also, I'd suggest investing in lumber and cement and steel, you'll need loads of it to build up your shipyards.

Heh, I logged in today with 1.6 million of Cement and Lumber, 20 hours worth of production since I wasn't able to log in yesterday to use any of it. 80k/hr.

Too bad I don't have a train, could give a serious development boost sending 250k lumber and 250k cement to someone who still has low level buildings.

I just started out, in Wales somewhere: Merthyr... Tydfil. Like I said, Wales.

Any ideas what I should focus on, or should I just do the missions?
