Huh. Well, I'm the magistrate of Hangzhou (just south of Shanghai) if anyone's playing in China. First order of business will be to set up industry, second will be to build a road network up to Shanghai.

Roads are too expensive at the start and only provide movement bonuses for troops. There are a fair bunch of Paradoxians in China, mostly up north around Peking province.

All the more reason somebody needs to be down near the Yangtze Delta, to stop the Japanese amphibious landing.  :P

Yeah, roads are steep. But you can lay in an industrial infrastructure in a few hours, so....(although I'm screwed with regards to cement. Zhejiang is not an environment for mining. I can cut trees and raise cotton and horses like a mofo, though. All hail the mighty Zhejiang Cavalry Legion!)

It won't let me register. Keeps giving me an error page.
You might have to do it repeatedly. And I hear symbols can mess it up too.
There's no symbols whatsoever. I just keep getting this over and over.

I've tried signing up with different countries and a different name, it just doesn't want to work.

EDIT: GOD DAMN IT! I try one more time after saying this and then it works $%#^#!

I am in xiamen province. Which is just opposite Thailand. This should be interesting.

Am I the only one that thinks that maybe the map is a little too big?

I think it would be manageable if there was a map mode between the local tile one and the world map, so you can see your surroundings with a bit more details. It would make finding people easier too.

It would also be nice to be able to see the province names and players who control them and such on the map.

I did discover you can type player names and city names into the coordinate box to find them.

Just started as Jiexiu province in China. Thats in the upper central area of China. I actually started as Shanghai, but seeing the complete lack of mountains/hills and minimal plains I restarted as Jiexiu - which has tons of mountains and plains and forests and even some jungles.

I just did that one, it's a typo - it was supposed to be 5. You need one level 5 saw mill.

-edit- Well, I blew all my initial lumber/cement resources. Some of the things I built I probably didn't need to (city upgrade, mines for stuff I have no use for, etc) but I wound up with 1.3k production of both cement and lumber. Hopefully that's decent. Tomorrow I should have enough stuff to build up a bit more.

-edit again-

I was just looking at the ingame map of the US, Texas specifically. I was expecting lots of plains and forests, some savanna, a few deserts and lots of hills in some areas. Instead I see massive jungles and swamps with huge swaths of savanna. It seems to alernate between provinces with 90% savanna and provinces with 90% jungle, with a few swamp and desert tiles thrown in for good measure. No forests. No plains. No hills. No mountains.

I guess in game terms it works OK except for the total lack of cement or food production capabilities. The best most of them can do is -30%. Just seems odd for Texas to be a giant jungle.

I started in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. And  I'm apparently 1 of only 4 Canadians.

So each player controls a province within a country, all working together to play a browser-based strategy game kind of thing?
Sounds potentially awesome, going to sign up but probably not play that much.

It looks that way.  My SW neighbor was about to come and take my province right before I started playing, so I ruined his plans and his troops are heading home.  ;D

Looks like we have a long ways of catching up as China, judging from the player listings.  I don't know how long it will take Manchukuo to get players and activate, I'm right on its border.

Am i the only one who went for Great britain ?

What I cant seem to work out is how you contact any commanders ? i need to know what needs producing for the greater good.

Rule Britania !

Whats also odd is it has my puny RL home town ( beverley ) in a place where there should be a massivly important docks lol (Hull)
apart from London Hull was one of the worst bombed citys in England reports suggest 85% of all buildings within the boundry was damaged or destroyed so no idea why it does not exist in this game, however this was covered up during the war by the government so maybe thats why it has been overlooked.
