I want to be the Chief Medical Dwarf. Some sort of a battle medic.

That incident was really what clued me in to the depth this game can offer, though that one time I made a fort of 150 dwarves suspended over a gorge and cut it all loose was pretty fun too.

I assumed everybody would want to be Sharum (Except for Delta Foxtrot.) And that is fantastic, as I will have plenty of those. I'll see what I can do for you.

22nd Sandstone-noon
I have led my band from Krasia- my three clan brothers and their servants- in search of demons to wet our spears and have found a massive construction site. Curious, we entered and were greeted by both clanless and fellow Sharum. My brothers want to stay here for awhile, they insist the demons will come to us by nightfall, attracted by the people here. I have agreed, and our servants are setting up our travel tents.

22nd Sandstone-nightfall
My brothers were right, the demons erupted from the sand as the shadows of night descended on us. Foul  shapes stalked the edges of our fires. My brother Remalle showed true battle prowess, slaying fourteen of the demons in his first battle!. I myself added two of their kind to my kills, the second struck my arm with it's head, bruising me, no more. If this many demons dwell here, I believe we shall stay longer...

It is the 27th of Felsite and... Oh dear Everam WHY?!?! There is so much blood...So much blood everywhere..Everyone is dead, dying, or insane and eating a cat covered in their children's blood. We have failed...Everam forgive us.

But wait...What is this? I see a light descending from the sky! It is Everam, he speaks to me!... He is allowing us to go back in our timeline and right our wrongs so we may live to worship him! Oh by the sands, I never thought I would see my family again! Here we go!
(Since my empire was turned into a pile of dead everything, we are reverting to one of the saves. Sorry for the delay, gang!)

I am preparing to leave with my clan brothers on a raid far from our home. Monsters and bandits have been spotted deep in the desert and we mean to slay them. I don't usually take much stock in such things but...I had a dream last night, far too real, where my brothers and I were slaughtered on unfamilar land. I hope this isn't an omen...

Well the lack of an actual maze/gate, an untrained militia with iron spears and shields going up against about 30 white tigerman, dark stranglers, and frogmen pouring in through the sewers. I'll have to fix that. But in the reload, nothing bad has happened as of yet! I'll try to keep this going, but it may not be updated daily, I'll try to get at least an hour in every day if I can.

*Several pages of the journal are torn out, and the binding of the book is stained with blood. It resumes on the end of an entry*
-and after Sharum BranRhi's wrath, I believe they will think twice before returning here! All of the bodies are being hauled into the pit as we speak by the Ting.

After the last incident with the giant insect monster of flames flying up through our pit to the magma, we have added a hatch and walled it on all sections. To avoid repeat incidents of the Nightwing demons flying directly over our walls, we are sealing in each tent and connecting them with tunnels instead. Construction of the maze has finally begun, and after the losses from the last battle I am positive that we will need it. However the designs for the pits and elaborate traps will take many months. One of the Dama'Ting suggested a pressure plate that raises floodgates ahead and behind the demon, then floods the chamber with magma. We will also need basic pit traps with spears on the bottom. There is still not much solution to the Nightwing demons soaring above our walls and getting to the courtyard, other than to pave the roof of the complex. The arena is nearing completion and will be ready before the next wave of demons. I am sure the newest recruits will find being thrown in with the demons with naught but a spear to be most enlightening. I must go- The night is approaching and with it another attack. For Krasia!
