I'm looking over the water trap and I don't see any items blocking it... maby you can show me in some pictures or should I find out for myself when I pull the lever?

In the left picture is what you see when the gates are open. The middle one is what it should be like, more or less, when the gates are closed. The one on the right is what happens when you try to close the gates.

Want to know what happens when you open the inner floodgates with the outer ones being like that?

For the record, the inner floodgates didn't close yet by the taking of that picture, and the cistern didn't quite empty either.
