Switching active windows may be the issue. I'll try letting it sit while I do homework.

I got the save to finally load. Unfortunately, I don't have much time for playing DF, and won't until Sunday. If that's ok with you guys, I'm going to post my first update then. If not, feel free to skip my turn.
