That'd probably explain it - Swordthunders was genned, run and ended with the Ironhand tileset.

I don't know if LW used 'em, but I certainly did.

I definitely won't. And actually didn't notice the mineral veins having altered appearances. So much for powerful skills of observation necessary for proper fortress management...

The easiest way to deal with it is, usually, to break out the Lazy Newb Pack - it can change your tileset (and update the RAWs as necessary) with a single click.

You know the real tragedy of the fort?  If this was the new version (whenever it comes out) , Doren and Shen might've turned up amongst the migrants.
No, as new version will break save compatibility.

I know, hence why it's a tragedy

So... uh... i spent several hours just *looking* around last night.

Stuff found:
-Room full of levers with no labels (!!FUN!!)
-Evidence of a magma breach, since sealed - honestly, i might do that intentionally to clear clutter!
-Piles of crap everywhere
-24 active ghosts
-Every dwarf engaged in hauling crap

Stuff not found:
-Anywhere to pump water to get the power generator going. (where is this?  I admit, I might have missed it...)

Now, if I was a dutiful overseer, I might try to fix most of that.  But wait, I'm playing an overseer with delusions of grandeur foisted upon him!  Bwahahaha!  (I do want to get the power going though...).

Urge to start ridiculous megaproject rising...

It's an aquifer breach.  Just build a screwpump on the south side pumping east-to-west

eg;

  wwwwwwwwwwww
gwwwwwwwwwwwwg
  wwwwwwwwwwww
         h%%h

where w = the south-most waterwheel row, h is a channel down and %% is a screwpump.  Manually pump it and it'll start the whole thing off.  There IS a way to get water down to the Quarry to.  Look around the hospital level...

None, I believe.  All that would've been there are whatever might've been in the spawntraps when I saved and abandoned.

If you mean in general, then yes.  They spawn on the map edge in groups of about 3-5 and generally move about a bit before exiting via the map edge.  You don't get any announcements, they're pretty much the local wildlife

It sounds as if just cleaning up the place would be a megaproject.

How did I miss the existence of this thread?
(Don't attempt to answer that.  Down that path lies ... well I was going to say madness but you all run towards madness as if it was made from chocolate and puppies.  Just forget I said anything.)

I left the place clean and tidy when I left it.  Not my fault all the goods stored in the main storage cave got scattered all over the quarry level.  Squirreloid'd probably be better off shoving them into a corner with water rather than destroying them though.  The magma would probably start enough of a wildfire through all the clothes, wooden items and whatnot to crash the game.
