Flooded food stores
« on: March 12, 2007, 09:02:00 pm »

I flooded my food stockpile, or part of it. The dwarves keep trying to get the food and drink and I keep getting spammed with failed task messages. I don't see any way out of this...

You can try one of the un-flood exploits:

1) designate a door to be built near the flood area.
2) BEFORE it is built, flood the door.

3) while flooded, destroy(remove) the not-yet-built door.

that should create an unflood event that may undo your flooding -- assuming you have otherwise closed the original flooding floodgates.

the raising of a drawbridge can also create an unflood event.

as always, create a back-up save before working with floodgates -- and since you probably didn't make a save before your original flood, there may be no purpose to making a save before attempting the unflood. it will either work, or you'll abandon your fort due to path-finding spam.

Odd.  They should be checking the components now.  Maybe the food jobs don't do it properly.
