Sudden Strike - Disscusion Thread

Quote from: Wikipedia
The Sudden Strike series is a collection of real-time tactics (RTT) computer games set in World War II. The player selects a faction (e.g. Soviets, Germans, or Allied forces) and gains control of many varied units such as infantry, tanks and artillery. The games focus primarily on tactics, eschewing traditional real-time strategy resource gathering and base development

I just bought this little gem of a game, and was wondering if anyone else has any of you guys happens to have any of the Sudden Strike Series.

I managed to snag the Sudden Strike Anthology edition (Sudden Strike, Sudden Strike Forever, and Sudden Strike 2) for just eleven bucks :), so it was quite a good buy on my side. Anyone have any tips, tricks, or stories about this game ?

Good Lord, those games were hard. As in, "gonna nail ya in the behind and pop a smoke afterwards" hard. I still feel frustration bubbling to the surface just by thinking about the game. I don't know which game in the series first introduced an officer with his binoculars, but that guy and a sniper would wreak havoc on anything that was a grunt or depended on a grunt. But still, hard as nails, Sudden strike is.

I see what you mean. All of my troops got taken out by a howitzer when they failed to notice it fifteen feet ahead of them.
