Abrupt crash on switch to fullscreen/windowed

The game runs perfectly if I keep it in either windowed or fullscreen mode (either one's fine) but switching between them (using the F11 key) sometimes causes a fatal crash that either crashes just Dwarf Fortress, or sometimes will crash the entire computer (Windows has to restart). I don't have blue screens turned on so I'm not sure if it gets one before it restarts.

This crash once resulted in Windows needing to be restored to a restore point, although due to previous experience with this system I don't think that it was caused directly by Dwarf Fortress.

I'm using an Athlon 2800+ processor on an ASUS A78NX-X motherboard, with a Radeon X1300 graphics card, 290gb of disk space, and 1 gb of memory (which I'm fairly sure is error-free from recent tests).

Any tips on why this might be happening?

That's what I'm on.  Is anybody else experiencing this problem?  Other apps do fullscreen toggle fine on your computer?

Fullscreen-to-windowed has never been an issue on my computer, but then again, there's not a ton of apps that use it.

Never happens to me.

I have 2x the ram, and very 'little' free hardspace now (about 10 GB).

Maybe try defragging the HD?

Perhaps; I installed new drivers for my motherboard, and for some reason the system seems more stable. I'm guessing this was a problem with my system, not with Dwarf Fortress explicitly; sorry!
