Native: Why lynch Jim? I don't see anything other than 'he was associated with someone who was scum', which was actually only true of a townie in the last game (Flandre was lovers with scum Jim). Do you really think that's sufficient grounds for lynching?

Ottofar: Same story. Is there anything to it besides they were connected by flavor?

If they end up lynched because they didn't post, oh well. Too bad for them. Maybe they should've tried posting.

Sorry for the delay. Extend? I think a lot of people, including myself, could use some extra time to look at this game and talk things over some more.

Ottofar, Jim, Urist A, and Native:  Please explain why you ended D1 not voting anyone.

It's been long enough that I don't remember exactly what was going through my mind at the time. I was trying to get answers out of Time Blossom but then he ended up getting replaced.

By the time I unvoted him, I don't think I had a lot of time to look over the game again and make a decision. NUKE9.13 was being NUKE9.13 and I couldn't make up my mind about him , I didn't think Simple was scum, and that's about it. If there was anything else to look at I didn't get to it in time. Contributing to this was also severe academic overload.

Jim:  Flavorwise, did you and Nuke stay at the same place?  If not, where did he stay?  Anything else about either of you?

We stayed at a small theater with the permission of the owner, whom we convinced on such short notice with a short act and lots and lots of charm. There's not a lot else, besides the details of our jobs. Our practice patterns, the subject matter of our acts, coming up with fresh acts, and so on.

Okay guys, I've got an essay to do right now.

Meanwhile voting Jim, for being a likely elf.

It's good to see that you're putting so much effort into this.

Just because EC's flavor says he dresses a little on the side of sleazy is a silly reason to lynch him. Unless there's something else that I missed (running on zero sleep here). On the other hand, Jim is almost certainly an Elf, a not-so-silly reason for someone to be lynched.

It's good to see that you're putting so much effort into this.

:P
:P
:P

Smileys are not a defense.

It's a gut feeling, really. Just doesn't feel right...

So essentially, you don't have anything but are voting McArathos anyway. Gut feelings don't count for much when the concrete reasons you used to justify your vote earlier get completely obliterated.

With only one vote cast since the last extension? I think you may have jumped the gun a little, not that I'm complaining.

Flavor's important in this game. I find it hard that they were in a troupe without them being elfbuddies. Jim's character would probably notice something was up or the like, so I just find it very likely that Jim is an elf. Just because it happened last game doesn't mean something different can't happen this game.

The chances are just too high that Jim is an elf for me to not be voting him and you should do the same.

Jim: It's hard to put a lot of effort into it when the reason I'm voting you can't really be expanded on and you're a good enough player to not leave any obvious tells.

Some of your other suspects would be nice so that it's clear that you're not just sitting on your vote that you can't expand on or do anything with because I'm too good.

EC just seems like a bad townie to me.

Imik doesn't seem to only be voting him because of his reaction to the letters, and he isn't really putting a lot of effort into his case, relying more on "You're flailing, go hang" than actual, useful questions (e.g. "Why are you continuing this bullshit line of questions"). Seems more like he's going for an easy lynch and is only trying to appear like he's adding to it when he really isn't. He's my second pick for an elf if by some strange twist you aren't.

I'm not really putting much effort into Mafia at the moment. I have an exam this evening and a speech to prepare for next week.

Jim:  How long had your troupe been together?  Had Nuke been acting strange lately?

Native:  Again, that vote is incredibly lazy.

Around noon, almost everybody has formed into two camps.
The first group thought ECrownofFire to be no-good witch, or a homicidal elf, for his generally suspicious behaviour.
The others firmly believed Jim to be one of the elves, because for them, there's no way somebody could not notice their partner being possessed by an elf.
The two groups kept arguing about each other's suspicions, but it didn't look like anybody was willing to change their opinion. And so it came that ECrownofFire, by a slightly majoritary vote, was brought to the gallows.

"It has hereby been decided that you are one of those who want to harm this town. If you have anything to say, or want to repet for your sins, speak now!", the priest declared.

"But I am innocent!", Crown protested. "I am nothing but a teacher from another town! A tourist!"

"Unfortunately there's nothing that I can do for you now. If you indeed are innocent, you have nothing to fear."

Despite the chosen one's flailing about, he has been escorted to the rope.

A noose placed around his neck.

A lever pulled.

After the man's death, everybody held their breath. They were waiting for something to show that they have indeed chosen the right person.
After having finished examining the victim's belongings, the priest turned to the villagers and shook his head.
"You have chosen poorly. This man was another innocent person, with no evil in his heart."
The priest turned back to the body. "May you rest in piece. Alright then, take him off and give him a proper burial."

Lawrence "ECrownofFire"Erewaker has been lynched! He was a villager.

The night will end on Monday, 5 PM GMT.

Another day, another morning, another trial. Once again there had been a gathering at the city plaza. Only this time, there were fewer people than the last two days. Maybe they got bored from the mislynches of the previous trials. Or maybe they were put off by the poster that somebody hung up overnight.

Once again, two people were missing. One, the priest. The other, Jim.

"Want to make a bet that he got killed?"

"No dice! But you can bet that he was an elf!"

"Eh, I'd rather not. wait, isn't that the priest?"

Sure enough, the priest had arrived at the plaza again. This time, though, he wasn't covered in blood. He walked up the gallows and spoke to the villagers.

"Once again, I bring news. I have to inform you that-"

"Jim was an elf. Am I right?", Dariush interrupted him.

"I would be rather grateful if I wasn't interrupted mid-sentence. But yes. Jim was killed, in his bed, and with the same weapon as the late NUKE. I have examined the corpse, and have come to the conclusion that he was indeed in cahoots with the elf king - even more, he was his queen!"

"But that's good news isn't it? With the two of them dead we can go home now!"

"I'm afraid that this is not the case. Have you forgotten that we are still trying to find the witches? We cannot stop until all hostile creatures have been eliminated!

"Now, do what you must. Find them, and expose them!"

Hugh "Jim" Pemberton has been killed. He was the Queen of Elves.

The day will end on Tuesday, 5PM GMT.

Darvi, what's on the poster that's so disturbing?

That message is pretty much unnoticeable in the default layout, seeing as the text is black already.

It looks like whoever was lynched gets a short message they can send the town.  I'm guessing Simple was either trying to convince people to vote Crown or pointing out he was indeed town, and the second one looks like Crown complaining.

In any case, since I was totally wrong, I need to reread more.  It may be tomorrow before that's done.
