Make sure your dwarves are set to gather refuse too, in the (o)rders section.

Yours is the fort that will pierce the hells!

1. Get more dwarf power
2. Start a militia
3. Up fort value (golden statues for everyone!)
4. ???
5. ‼Fun & Profit‼

You could build a barracks and a hospital next. Also, pasture one or more cats to your fort entrance to spot thieves and ambushes. Bonus points for pasturing a kitten.

Sigging that first sentence so hard...

I'm thinking about putting the barracks in the first floor where the dormitory used to be... but for thew hospital... i have no fuckiing clue... maybe the big room i dug out below the future crypt? :/

Also: pasture ALL the animals!

You will probably want to position your hospital near a staircase for easy access. Do you have a water source? Having a working well in your hospital is probably the most important thing to consider.

Build a cistern and drain some water into it.

You can build a well directly over the river in the meantime, but that's not very secure.

hmm.. i'm working out how to do that now but first let me be impressed by myself.

As you can see thata is a wall to the north and i nearly have every ramp dug out. any invader who tries to get in my fort now must come through the front. the side there is going to be walled off and turned into a open air garden for my strawberries and such.

this now leavs the top of my fort wel protected and allows me to make buildings!

Be sure to make a roof. Also, be warned, things can dodge up and down z lvls. You could have titans dodge up into the very centre of your fort....

Also: pasture ALL the animals!

Just take care not to pasture too many to the same pasture zone unless it is very large.  Not only will they trample and/or eat all the grass more rapidly, leaving the grazers hungry, but if they start to feel like they're crowded (which happens with grazers a lot when they decide to eat from grass patches all on one side of the pasture zone due to their AI) they may start killing each other, which can be problematic.

Butcher some animals, and rock bars may refer to metal bars... It's rather confusing.

On the item is a image of Lashed, the deity of scholarship and wisdom, depicted as a female dwarf and a dwarf in dog bone. The dwarf is praying. Lashed is comptemplating.

25200 dwarfbucks.

And I have a legendary blacksmith now. Schweet.
