Exactly meinfreunde, the hotshot pistol is for when we need a meaty gun on a time where accuracy isn't dependent, normal laspistol for when the hotshot edventually fails.

For that purpose the bolter might be better than the hotshot- It doesn't have as much armor pen, but it has more damage.

Yes, but we're less accurate with the bolt pistol, in addition to the armor penetration being far less. We have a chainsword if we need to destroy someone up close anyways, and we're traveling with guardsmen. Volley fire can be extremely powerful.

Part 1

The journey to catch up to the 101st Mettite was fairly brief and dull. The light freighter smells strongly of tea for some reason, and you have trouble remembering what weapons are on your belt. Time blurs.

The troopship Ardent Venture and its escorts are orbiting Taphia, an unremarkable and barely inhabited world. They should be well past Taphia on their way to Oram-Okbod, but they're showing no signs of moving out despite being days behind schedule. The docking proceeds as normal, depositing you and your kit in a cargo bay with a pair of somewhat nervous guardsmen. They've likely never dreamed of encountering a commissar and appear to be trying very hard to not get executed.

When we meet the new Guardsmen check for Daemons of Chaos amongst the Guardsmen and execute one of them for no particular reason if no signs are found, to make them know you aren't afraid to kill them if they flee or show any signs of Daemonic Incursion.

EDIT: Fixed who to check for Daemonicness

That doesn't make sense, we haven't even met the guardsmen yet! And how is that supposed to make the guard look good?

Just go find where we are supposed to go, then have a good look at the whole regiment we are maintaining.

That's a good idea, I didn't think about that. We should do that too.

Part 2

With nothing better to do, you send one trooper off to deliver your bags to a suitable place, and have the other escort you to Colonel Jamaal's office. After much traversing of hallways which puts you in mind of the Spirit of Silver, you come across a polished wooden door with [Col. Jamaal] on a bronze nameplate.

There's a bunch of what look to be junior officers present, and they're waiting in line.

I suppose we shouldn't make a giant mess of the line, unless its going to take forever to see him.

Agreed. WE are a Commissar, they are holding us from our Emperor given duty!
