Also, check if anything else has happened. Check up your men for anything wrong.

And push that corpse off you with your chainsword hand.

I'm impressed we managed to survive that attack.

How many men did we lose? all but those 2?

-=-Party Hard in Hard Vacuum-=-
MEANWHILE, IN SPACE
Part 16

You manage to pull yourself up and survey the battlefield. You seem to be approximately half flesh, half patches, and the remaining two are little better with one of them missing some fingers. The rest were messily taken apart by the genestealers.

You try contacting the other squads, but 2 and 3 are not responding. Only 4, at the Guardroom fallback position is responding. So far they have not been attacked.

Shiiiiit. Ask how long it's been since we've had contact with the dead squads. Then have our two remaining guardsmen pull us back to the fallback position. Also check the status of the bridge.

Can we get a map?

Fall back to the bridge guardsroom. We are only 3 in number currently, and if we get attacked...Our position will be easily compromised.

When we get there, regroup and fortify that place.

-=-Party Hard in Hard Vacuum-=-
MEANWHILE, IN SPACE
Part 17

While wading through the gore, you vox the Captain with your status. There's no response, but a few seconds later an announcement plays over the public speakers.

All hands prepare for impact

After a moment's hesitation you and your remaining allies grab a handhold. As the seconds stretch into eternity you begin to wonder, but your actions are rewarded when the gravity cuts out and a violent shock sends everything not bolted down sailing away down the hall. The period of weightlessness ends quickly, and you climb to your feet. Even with gravity returned you feel something is off, and you realise there is an additional pull to one side. Based on your limited starship knowledge, this implies that either the gravity generators are malfunctioning or the ship has entered some sort of spin.

Leading your troops down the now-clear corridors, you vox the Captain again.

Commissar Halian
Captain, we've taken heavy casualties from boarders. I'm down to three walking wounded including myself, two squads aren't responding, but the Bridge guardroom is secure. I can't guarantee the security of the Bridge beyond the next few minutes. What hit us?

Chartist-Captain Meer
It's the Tyranid vessel, the big one. According to my sensors it's wrapped around the starboard engine nacelles, and it's ruined the power balance. In any case, the xenos have wrecked the main command relays and rendered the Bridge useless.

Commissar Halian
Damn them. Do we have any options besides abandoning ship?

Chartist-Captain Meer
Yes, actually. There's a secondary command station not too far away. It's small and basic, but it has the same essential controls. I need you to escort me there. See you in the guardroom.

You travel to the guardroom without incident, though you see plenty of blood and ichor staining the area. Every so often you come across a pile of human and xeno corpses piled up against a wall. On reaching the rally point, you are relieved to see the full squad present and accounted for, as well as a survivor from one of the other squads.

As you hurry through the doors, the elevatus pings open and Meer himself strides out. He's clad in carapace armour, and wields what looks like a power sword and bolt-pistol.

Look at wounds sustained, if they aren't that crucial, ask Captain Meer to switch that Power Sword for your Chainsword.

Ask the current captain of the Guardroom squad details about the others, or specifically, ask the survivor.

We need a medic (forgot what they were called.)

Medicae.

And check the survivor's medical readiness. Is he/she showing signs of combat fatigue beyond that which might be expected? Does that survivor have little-to-no wounds?

I agree with dsarker, and I feel a very evil plan coming into mind currently. if we can get the sublight / warp nacelle things working we can essientally BURN OFF the tyranid ship

-=-Party Hard in Hard Vacuum-=-
MEANWHILE, IN SPACE
Part 18

Now that you are in a semi-secure location, you have yourself and the other three survivors checked more thoroughly by your medicae. Fortunately enough the genestealers hadn't managed to shred too much flesh, so basic medkit supplies are able to staunch the bleeding and dull the pain. You'll definitely need to see a dedicated facility to make sure you don't have any permanent wounds, though.

You briefly covet the Captain's power sword, but decide against commandeering a family relic from someone who can doubtlessly handle it better than yourself.

The other squad's lone survivor arouses your curiosity, so you crouch down with him and put on your most Commissarial tone. After a moment's hesitation he explains that  he was at the rear of the squad and witnessed the slaughter as genestealers sprang from vents and access shaft. Much like your own experience, the ferocious xenos proved all too adept at slaughtering loyal Imperial subjects, and within seconds his squad was dead or mortally wounded. After fending one off and sustaining wounds, he picked up the fallen squad flamer and hosed down the entire battlefield, then set the fuel tank to detonate. He hurled it into the writhing xenos, and escaped through a blast door which he locked behind him.
