-=-Handoria Insurrection-=-
Every Commissar has to start somewhere
Part 22

Several Days Later

Your mission was a complete success. In addition to eliminating the primary target, you managed to locate and rescue captive loyalists. While other squads faced fierce resistance, some even failing to reach their objectives, yours was able to cut through the disorganised rabble while taking minimal casualties.

With much of the enemy leadership dead and PDF forces inserting all over the city, the traitor militia was defeated handily. By the time the trials for treason and other charges had begun, you were already released from hospital and wandering aimlessly through the Schola, awaiting the judgement of your masters. Your superiors seem to have been suitably impressed by your exploits, the collected accounts forming the image of a brave and fearless Commissar Cadet who cares for his charges and has no tolerance for heresy.

Congratulations, Commissar.

Commissar Regalia
+1 Charisma
The peaked cap, greatcoat, sash and other symbols of the Commissariat confer great authority.

Progenium Boltpistol
-3 to Hit
6 - 12 Damage
A monstrously powerful sidearm, quite capable of exploding most humanoids. It is significantly more difficult to handle than your laspistol.

Progenium Chainsword
-1 to Hit
4 - 14 Damage
A basic yet deadly tool of war, capable of tearing apart traitors and xenos with ease. It is much heavier than your sabre, and uses a different combat style.

You have already been assigned a post in Lord General Verhoff's campaign, in a nearby subsector. You will join PDF elements tithed from Calystia and other worlds in reinforcing his battleforce as it takes on supplies in the Ghenna system. The 46th Mortayan will be the subject of your tour.

If you want to do anything like stealing supplies or intel before leaving (forever), now is your chance.

Stealing supplies from the Emperor of Mankind? Who would do that?

Nah, we should learn to dual wield (wether laspistol+boltpistol or sabre+chainsword) for more awesomeness.. It's kinda sad we cannot quad-wield.

Can we attempt to solder our laspistol on our chainsword to have a laschainsword (od Doom)?

You'll have to talk to a techpriest about that.

The techpriest is horrified at your suggestion.

"Persuade" the techpriest. Or find another techpriest.

How about we don't get charged with techno herasy and get excuted (machines are sacrid).
Instead go and find some intel on the Ghenna system and the 46th Mortayan.

Even a simple chainsword is sacred? Well, let's go and find intel then.

Ahem, I'd like to point out tech heresy isn't put out that harsh except by much more radical members of the Mechanicus, seeing as how Guardsmen blow up their Lasguns as improvised Krak Grenades all the time.

The Ghenna system and its primary planet, Ghenna, is a moderately important planet in the subsector. It's not a forge or hive world, but has considerable facilities for the maintenance and resupply of Guard and Navy forces. As such it is frequently overrun by off-duty personnel whenever a fleet docks in orbit, and its civilians enjoy a high standard of living from the additional security and infrastructure invested in it by Segmentum Command.

The 46th appears to be a typical Cadian-style regiment, without any particularly notable decorations or specialities. They have been deployed for many years, so it stands to reason they are being brought back to full strength at Ghenna.

I'd like to point out that losing your lasgun or having it damaged is a capital offence in the Imperial Guard.

Look, I don't think you should be committing heresy just yet. You've only been a Commissar for one day.
