I so wish Uplink was a little more expansive. I loved it so much that I played it to death in like a week and a half.

And all the mods out there just made everything take longer or act more confusing.

I was having trouble on a server with an annoying admin always tracking me down before I finished what I was doing. I hacked into the police database and got him arrested. Sadly he was still at work the next day.

I personally got sick of other hackers deleting files before I got a chance to steal them.
So I hacked into uplink, stole their member list, and got every last one of them thrown in jail.
And yet, other than the news feed, I didn't see any change in the game world.

Also, how do you change your username is DEFCON to something other than 'Newplayer'?

Let's try and recall. I believe there should be an options selection on the main menu. That isn't it, I don't think. I believe you have to go into your game, and click on your name. It should have an option there for changing it.

It's been almost a year, if not more, since I last touched it, though, so...

Options>Other>Player Name
It won't change the text in the box, but it changes your name ingame.

Honestly the Darwinia demo was possibly the best Demo I ever played. It felt like a small and fun game with a very interesting story.

Unfortunately Multiwinia ruins it with... what its existance implies.
