"Very well. I will return home to grab my belongings and return. It'll be great working with you, Talig."

Wash managed to keep a calm demeanor until he stepped outside. He then did a brief victory dance.

Hail a cab and return to the apartments.

monkeyfacedprickleback: all of that is redily available, and costs very little. At the hardware store, you see an +ADAMNATINE WRENCH+ for only 500 credits. Ah the wonders of military expenses paid shore leave.

The hammer is moderate quality thing. Nice.

What do you do with them?

Spaghetti7: You quickly realise that it isn't a shopping district Per Se, but a massive market area, like on the Citadel, or Ssaros Star Fortresses. What do you wish to buy?

Sirius: "Likewise"

As you do the victory dance, Varayis steps out of her room to go somewhere.

"Um... O-kay..."

the cab ride isn't very long to your place. The way back, laden down with your stuff, is a similar length. Ricky (Or it says so on his uniform) is helping you lug your stuff.

"So, seeking adventure, excitement, and explosions?"

[Sirus]

"I suppose you could say that. Just signed on as a transport pilot for a ship. I'm sure we'll see some adventure."

Wash grabbed a hover-trolley to move the luggage through the building, and paid Ricky a generous tip. Why not?

Head upstairs

"I know, you'll be transporting me."

You head back to 3-5.

Wash belatedly realized that the male human who helped him carry his bags was not a bellboy, but actually a soldier; apparently one on the Sky Searcher. He inwardly cringed at being such an idiot.

"So", he said, hoping to cover up an awkward moment, "what's it like on the Sky Searcher? Do you spend a lot of time in deep space, on the frontier maybe?

(ooc: been wondering, is the Sky Searcher a military or mercenary ship? Or something else entirely?)

Monkeyfacedprickleback: After hours of working, you have created the most dangerous weapon... to the operator. the fabled ENERGY SWORD CHUCKS!!!

What do you do with them?

Sirius: "Well, we did spend a few hours at Mars for combat training, then Lastros, in the city of Ak'Mkal. And now... here."

The Sky Searcher is going to be the future of strike frigates. fast, stealthy and packing some pretty powerful weapons for such a small ship, it could be very dangerous...

It is an IA (Intergalactic Alliance) Prototype frigate.

[Sirus]

"Lastros sounds familiar somehow...anyway, how much longer do you think it will be before we get orders? If we have some time, I'd like to talk to the XO about taking the Stingray out for some practice. Get a feel for it, you know?"

Offer Ricky a glass of purified water. Sadly, humans cannot ingest quarian drinks.

"Well, it is at the Sky Searcher... Just gotta change the hangar. As for the XO, I believe he is catching up with family... Thanks"

Ricky drinks the water.

"What made you want to sign up?"

[Sirus]

"Well, you know of the Migrant Fleet, right? The wandering home of the Quarian people. I was born and raised in space, it's in my blood. The IA trained me to fly combat missions after the...after I left. I figured I might as well repay them by joining up with the fleet, and this was the first post availiable on this planet for quite some time."

"What about you? What made you want to become a marine?"

[Kestrel_6]

"My family have always been ground pounders. It's just in my blood. Ever since World War One... Tell me, what made you want to leave the Migrant Fleet? Isn't there a sense of duty to your people and such?"

[Sirus]

Wash was very quiet for a minute.

"I'd like nothing more than to go back. I just...can't."

He looked directly at Ricky. "I'm sorry, but it's a personal matter. Please understand, I am not trying to be rude. It's rather embarrassing."

A pause. Then, Wash forced some cheer back into his voice.

"Anyway, my old apartment was a long way from here, and I don't know the area very well. Can you recommend someplace for entertainment?"
