Saru decided to get some information on the situation before making a decision, and approached one of the people standing off to the side. "Pardon my inquiry. What caused this?" he asked, gesturing vaguely towards the fight.

(An amalgam of Mal and Joker's already our ship pilot, I doubt this guy is our Captain Reynolds. )

"Somethin about some Independance. Then the browncoated guy took offence, and now it's a really good tussle."

Stingray, shuttle, and EVA Pod," he declared proudly. "I am certified to fly combat missions in all of those and more. All I meant was what you would be using the Stingray for: ground assault, deep-space fire support, cargo delivery...?"

Saru shrugged. Human politics. They only mattered so far as who was buying Spectrum Corporation Products~ such as himself. Was that jingle in his thoughts now? Maybe he just imagined it. In any case, he found a particularly dark corner of the bar near the entrance, removed his stun rifle from his back, and fired at a guy coming up on the brown coat from behind. The shot hit him in the forehead and temporarily rendered him senseless, causing him to fall and drop his chair on himself. Unit 10102031 quickly changed targets and shot another in the knee just as the man hit him with a jaw, causing him to crumple completely.

His accuracy was in top form. Organics would probably call it practice, he thought as he took aim at a third man, shooting him in the arm just as he moved to get a bottle. If he was human, he probably would have laughed at the man's 'stunned' reaction as his arm refused to function - just before he got clocked with a haymaker and taken down. Saru turned and scanned for further targets...

Sirius: "well, as you know, Stingrays are a turbofan, so no deep space. You will transport the Marines, provide fire support, and so on. Much smaller than the monstrous Nighthawk, if I say so."

SeriousConcentrate: that's it. Nothing else to shoot. A young woman, mechanic judging by the oil and dirt on her face, has sat next to you in the turmoil

"Awfully nice of you to assist the cap'n and Jayne."

Saru turned to the woman. "The odds were uneven, and I do not think the owner would appreciate much more damage to his business." He did understand her words were those of gratitude, although he wasn't sure how to respond. This was what he was programmed to do; if he couldn't shoot well he was pretty much the toaster the Batarian had called him. "I am a Spectrum Corporation Product~, Sniping And Recon Unit, 10102031 serial number. You have the appearance of a mechanic, miss...?" he asked, leaving it open for her to answer.

"Just Kaylee. Awful nice of a robot... No offense."

Saru shrugged. "I am what I am... although right now that apparently includes wearing tourist clothing." He took off the hat and set it on the table. "Tell me about yourself. Will you and your crewmates be in town long?" he asked, trying to get used to the whole 'conversation' thing. He had argued with Sai'oda and exchanged a few questions with his other shipmates, but other than the military and his makers he hadn't really spoken to anyone before. It was... odd.

"Well, the cap'n said he had a few jobs that needed to be done... So we might be here a while. What about you?"

(OOC personally I don't think Kaylee is hot per se... More like cute.)

Saru shrugged. "I do not know. Currently I am stationed with the frigate Sky Searcher, on loan to the marines as a sniper for field testing until either my term of service is up or I am too disabled to continue functioning feasibly. We are on shore leave for at least a few days, although based on galactic stability our shore leave could extend for a few more days or be cut short. I am not sure which is more possible." While he was talking, his wireless browser had been running through various websites, trying to figure out what one should do in this situation. The most common search result was 'buy her a drink' and he did happen to have a credit line from Spectrum Corporation. It wasn't much by their standards, that is. A fairly large corporation with military connections such as theirs probably makes a lot. >.> but it would be sufficient for his purposes. He signaled the bartender and ordered some wine... probably no doubt amusing people. What would a robot do with alcohol? Clean its exterior?

When it arrived he moved it towards Kaylee. "Many medical databases say that some of this every day is good for your health," he observed. "What sort of vessel do you work on?" he asked, being curious for the moment.

"her name's Serenity. Truest boat in the 'verse. Sky Searcher, eh? Sounds interestin'. And a Marine? You do know what they say 'bout guys in uniform?"

"Uh... Sir? What wine would you want?"

"Yes, I am aware" Wesley stated as he left.  He had no idea what any of what she said meant, he must of woken her up or something, it is shore leave after all.

Send the requisition to the proper source, then try to actually enjoy your time off for once.
