I just received a fall migration and received a swordsdwarf, Since it labled him swordsdwarf and not peasant he's active duty. So, he'll just stand there in the square he spawned until you eather take him out of the millitary or put him off duty.

Not necessarily a bug, but its very tedious if you get several military dwarves in one migration.

This also happens if you recruit the migrating dwarves while they are still on the edge of the map. 33g

I think giving them patrol points works as well.

Proper behaviour would be to station the dwarf at the meeting hall, I guess?

I just incorporate them into an appropriate off duty squad.

It makes sense that incoming soldiers of fortune would default to "off-duty", as having not reported for duty they could hardly have a duty on which to be.
