You read through the book, until you come across something that isn't backwards, or written right...it looks like it would sound something out if you said it aloud...

An incorporeal arrow flies out of the book and flies through your left hand; leaving a charred hole in your hand, it doesn't gush blood however and you can't really feel no changes in it, so maybe that's a goo- oh god that's starting to hurt.
A numb sort of pain works it way up from your hand, before finally stopping at your shoulder.
You feel a lot of pain in your left arm, but you can't move it or your left hand.

"I wouldn't rely on them being foolish enough to simply eat mysterious food that was left outside their lair. Still, 12 sounds like a bit much for an open fight..."
(to the farmer again:) "When they raid the farm, they likely split up, right? I am thinking we might hide in one of the farm buildings, then ambush the group that enters to loot it. Would we likely be able to catch up with the other goblins if they flee?"

"Ambushing them here, on this farm might be the best idea, as we have some time to get familiar with the terrain and maybe even make some traps. I'll check out the surroundings a bit."

"Yeah, the raider group splits in half, one to steal food and the other to mess around with production. The one's that screw around with production, they destroy the mills, or attack the Tame Goblins, or try and light the trees on fire."

The farm allows for very few ambushing spots. A few of the younger and more climbable Black Oak Trees are positioned around the southern border, and a few of them look burnt or like they were hacked at. There is a large barn with a windmill, surrounded by a number of smaller barns. Then there is a little village, surrounded by a thick wall and gate.The gate is locked from the inside and a single Tame Goblin- wearing thick leather clothing... a straw hat and holding a bow- is sitting on the wall. He/She itches his/her face then waves when you make eye contact.
The fully grown Black oaks are to tall to climb and are too far off the ground for any ambush. Unless you had bows.

(to the farmer:)"Thank you for your help. With this information we can hopefully kill a large portion of the goblins' fighting force before entering their hive."
(to the other group members:)"Ok, so they split into two groups. I think we should go after the production group first; they cause more serious damage and also sound likely to be better be armed, so it will be more important to surprise them than the other group. We then pursue the food stealing group and hopefully intercept them before they reach the hive. After the raiding party has been dealt with we can rest a bit and use the bounty for those goblins to prepare for our attack on the hive."

Wave back at the goblin and ask him/her "Hey, can your kind see in the darkness of night?"

"A good enough plan, but I'm not so sure about our chances...Perhaps we should just poison the food and deal only with the production-breakers?"

The goblin looks confused. "'hee ones 'hat grew up in 'hee swamps, do, Ma'am." He/she gestures to his/her eyes and makes the size of his/her eye with his/her overlarge hand, then widens it a lot.

"Its fine, just get rid of them." the man turns to leave, waving at a goblin sitting on the wall holding a bow. The goblin waves back and then goes back to looking at Cecily with curious eyes.

"When the food raiders hear us fighting the production breakers they will quite likely drop the food, as it would be a hindrance to both fighting and fleeing. We aren't exactly silent assassins you know."

"Not silent no...I guess we'll have to fight em all..Ok, let's do this. I'll attack from the rear...Yes?"
